Welcome.
This meditation is for you if you've started something new.
Or are moving towards something you really want,
Really desire.
And have found yourself wondering whether it's actually going to work.
Maybe you're excited about it one minute and questioning yourself the next.
That is a very human place to be.
So today,
We're going to look at what happens when the mind starts getting ahead of us,
And practice making room for a different question.
There is something the mind tends to do when we care about something.
It starts looking for what could go wrong.
What if this doesn't work?
What if I fail?
What if I'm wasting my time?
Our brains have a natural tendency to give more attention and weight to what could be threatening,
Disappointing,
Or what could go wrong.
This doesn't mean you're a negative person.
It means your brain is doing something it has learned to do very well.
To look ahead.
Anticipate.
Identify risk.
AND Try to protect you.
When the brain is trying to protect you from a possible future.
It can start treating that future as though it's the most likely one.
And suddenly,
Without realizing it,
You're living inside the possibility of failure before anything has actually happened.
Instead of only asking ourselves,
What if it fails?
What if you asked yourself,
What if it's already working?
What if something is already happening?
What is happening that I am not fully allowing myself to see?
What am I doing that is already changing something?
What is further along?
Then I am giving it credit for it.
The goal is not to manufacture certainty,
But rather to let those possibilities exist alongside your fear.
Because the future isn't asking you to know exactly how it ends.
You're here.
You're doing the thing.
You're learning.
You're moving forward.
Something is already happening.
So for today,
Let that be what you come back to.
What if it's already on its way?
