This Yoga Nidra practice is based on the mythology of the owl. We'll be using the inner wisdom power that is often connected to the mythology of the owl. Many cultures has different mythology but this one will be based on that inner light. Building strength and a boost of self-reliance and trust in our inner world. Let me know what experience you had if you like. It would be lovely to read. Namaste / Dennis

Welcome to a yoga need-wear practice with me,

Dennis Holstrom.

Prepare yourself to lie down,

Perhaps on a yoga mat or a blanket,

And see if you can make yourself as comfortable as you possibly can.

And start breathing slowly in and out through the nose.

Gentle,

Slow breathing.

Relax the shoulders.

Relax your jaw around the eyes.

Notice if there's any tension in the body and bring some awareness to that body part.

With full acceptance and compassion towards yourself.

Continuing with breathing in and out through the nose.

Sinking into the body.

Slowly awakening that inner light,

That inner wisdom,

The source.

Throughout history,

Across many cultures,

People have regarded oles with fascination and awe.

Often a symbol for inner wisdom.

And we can see this inner wisdom as our protector for bravery,

For self-reliance,

Our guardian,

Our guiding light when we need it.

And we'll be doing so by relaxing deeply into this Doga Needra practice and bringing forth the sankalpa,

Your heartfelt desire,

Something that truly clicks within you.

And if you don't have a sankalpa,

You can use,

For example,

I trust my inner light and repeat your sankalpa three times and truly feel it from within.

Just like an old,

You can also see in the dark,

It might be not your day to day visions,

But you have the ability to look inside,

To gather strength and light and this power that all have was often seen as magical power.

So let's also use our magical power and relax deeply by following the guidance,

A magical point of light rotating through the body,

Relaxing more deeply after each sensation is being felt.

Starting with your left eye,

Feel the sensation by simply focusing your awareness on the left eye,

The right eye,

Eyebrow,

Temple,

The right eye,

Eyebrow,

Temple,

Between the eyebrows,

Sinking deeper into the sensation of going inwards,

Forehead,

Crown of the head,

Back of the head,

Base of the neck,

Left shoulder,

Upper arm,

Elbow,

Lower arm,

Wrist,

Palm of the head,

Left thumb,

Second finger,

Third,

Fourth and a fifth,

Feeling the whole left hand and the sensation spreading all the way out through the fingertips,

Centre of the chest,

Right shoulder,

Upper arm,

Elbow,

Lower arm,

Wrist,

Palm of the head,

Right thumb,

Second finger,

Third,

Fourth and a fifth,

Feeling the whole right hand and the light spreading all the way out through the fingertips,

Back at the centre of the chest,

The heart centre,

Feeling the light and the gentleness of the light spreading in your heart,

Right side of the chest,

The solar plexus,

The gentleness softening the solar plexus,

The core of the body,

Navel,

Pelvic floor,

Inside the left hip,

Upper leg,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Sole of the foot,

Left big toe,

Second,

Third,

Fourth and a fifth,

Back at the pelvic floor,

Inside the right hip,

Upper leg,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Sole of the right foot,

Right big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Fourth and a fifth,

Face of the spine,

Feeling a light spreading upwards up the spine,

Mid back,

Upper back,

Feeling a whole body bathing in your inner light,

Just resting here with trust,

In safety,

Trusting yourself,

Believing in yourself,

Trusting your passage into the spirit world,

Your inner world,

On your next inhale,

Feel the right side of the body,

Fading into that inner light,

Shimmering like the moonlight on a river stream,

Leaving the left side in the darkness of the night,

And on your next inhale,

Feel the left side of your body,

Emerging into that inner light,

Leaving the right side in the darkness of the night,

Now feel both sides simultaneously in that blinding inner light,

Now feel both sides simultaneously in the dark of the night,

But still feeling safe,

Now feel both the light and the dark simultaneously,

Spreading throughout the whole body,

Feeling the meaning of them both,

As you spread your big wide wings,

You fly like a glowing light in a dark and silent forest,

You don't sense any fear or any regrets,

You shine in all of your glory,

The only sound you hear are your wings flapping in the night with its peaceful and soothing sound,

You decide to land on a branch of a big pine tree,

And as you raise your gaze,

The clouds in the sky starts to dissolve,

And the moon is peeking through,

Getting brighter and brighter,

The moonlight starts to sparkle,

As the light hits your feathers,

And you spread your wings once again in a peaceful way,

With pride,

With trust,

Connecting to your inner wisdom,

To the light of the moon,

Creating a radiant stream of light,

Knowing that your inner wisdom has its place in this world,

Giving yourself permission to have pride,

Giving yourself permission to shine,

As the green northern lights are dancing in the sky,

Stars are sparkling,

The Milky Way,

With different colors in the sky,

Red,

Blue,

Purple,

Pink,

Jello,

And as you put down your wings,

You bow your head down,

You rest completely in this endless trust of your inner wisdom,

Breathing softly your natural breath,

And with this gentle approach,

You realize that you're already complete,

Bathing in your own light,

With complete trust,

You bring forth your sankalpa again,

And you repeat your sankalpa three times,

Three times internally.

.

.

.

.

Perhaps stretching out the arms and the legs,

And take a big breath in through the nose,

Exhale with a sigh,

And again,

And one more,

And either rest here in this space for a while,

Or come back to a seated position,

And flutter the eyes open,

And continue to listen to your own wisdom in your day-to-day life.

Thank you,

And welcome back,

Anytime.
