Settle into a comfortable position and then take a nice deep breath in,
Exhaling with a soft sigh and gently closing your eyes,
Allowing the breath to move at its own easy and effortless pace.
And then,
Softening deeper and deeper with each passing breath,
And inviting the following idea as the opening of this meditation.
And this idea is that most of the stress and problems in life come from the belief that we have to manufacture our own success through sheer force.
But today,
We are shifting away from that and towards a more accurate and enjoyable view of reality,
One that recognizes the flow of life and the constant unfolding of miracles all around us.
Instead of pushing,
We will practice allowing.
So grant yourself these next few moments for ease,
Comfort,
And letting go,
Allowing yourself to witness the miracles that are unfolding around you all the time,
Beginning by noticing anywhere you're holding tension,
And relaxing the muscles of your face,
Unclenching your jaw,
Softening your shoulders down.
And as you settle just that bit deeper with each passing breath,
I invite you to visualize your life as a river,
Sometimes rushing,
Sometimes slowing,
But always moving forward.
And for a long time,
You may have been swimming against the current,
Exhausted by the effort it requires.
But right now,
With this very breath,
Simply flip over on your back and float.
Feel the natural power of the water carry you and support you.
Allow the current to carry you exactly where you need to be.
And just like this river,
Life is always flowing.
Miracles are always happening.
But if you're trying to swim with your head in the water,
You'll miss all of it.
By allowing the current of life to carry you,
You grant yourself the opportunity to witness all that's happening.
So just let go and allow life to carry you,
So that you can witness all of the journey and the miracles that are unfolding.
And in this way,
You can shift your view of the day ahead and of life more generally,
Not as a series of obstacles,
But as a series of unfolding gifts.
And you don't need to know how or when they'll arrive.
You simply need to be present enough to notice them when they do.
And you can affirm this shift in mindset towards allowing and receiving by repeating the following phrases.
I am out of my own way.
I am going with the flow of life.
I am open to unexpected wonders.
I am allowing the miracles to unfold.
Now,
Take one more deep breath in,
Sealing this shift in mindset.
And as you exhale,
Release the need to control.
You are in the flow of life now.
And the miracles around you are already in motion,
Constantly happening.
So as you're ready to gather yourself and turn towards your day,
Open your eyes not just to the world around you,
But to all of the beautiful miracles that are unfolding and gifting your life today.
