This is a journaling exercise that invites you to create a list of continuums of opposites - a series of paired opposites that relates to and describes how a particular emotion or experience begins and gains strength. It describes a timeline of a particular feeling or emotion. Creating this continuum helps you more fully welcome a particular emotion or experience without activating your PTSD symptoms. First, you do this by working with less intense feelings & emotions, so you can build your tolerance, strength, and ability to handle more intense feelings & emotions later. iRest Practice 19: Creating Continuums of Opposites of Feeling & Emotion from the iRest Program for Healing PTSD: A Proven Effective Approach to Using Yoga Nidra Meditation & Deep Relaxation Techniques to Overcome Trauma. Written by Richard C. Miller, PhD. Recorded by Erin Finck, TCTSY-F, RYT 500, Level 1 iRest Teacher
