This practice invites you to explore your hands as sensation. It is a body sensing, yoga nidra technique that invites you to begin exploring sensation in your body, starting with your hands, and then extending that awareness into the rest of the body. Your mind, working along with your eyes, imagines that your skin defines the boundary of your body. Your body is actually a field of sensation that extends beyond any border or boundary that your mind creates. In reality, your body has neither an absolute center nor a defined boundary. Your body is a field of radiant sensation that extends infinitely in all directions. This exercise offers you the opportunity to experience this. iRest Practice 8: Sensing Your Hands from the iRest Program for Healing PTSD: A Proven Effective Approach to Using Yoga Nidra Meditation & Deep Relaxation Techniques to Overcome Trauma.
