In your journal,
Write down your answers to the following question.
Your answers make up your inner resource.
When I feel a sense of well-being,
Peace,
Or ease of being,
Where and how do I feel this in my body?
After you write down the words and phrases that make up your inner resource,
Take time to sense how each word or phrase rings true in your body and mind.
Then arrange them in order of their importance to you.
Circle one,
Two,
Or three of the words or phrases that feel most important to you.
Repeat these words and phrases several times to embed them into your memory as prompts that represent and activate your inner resource.
Here are some words that others have used to represent their inner resource.
Secure,
Connected,
At ease,
Comfortable,
Content,
Still,
Clear,
Grounded,
Peaceful,
Expansive,
Open,
Safe,
Stable,
Balanced,
Resilient,
Flowing,
Well-being,
Being.
As you consider your inner resource,
Write down any negative opposites that may arise.
You'll learn in detail how to work with these negative opposites in chapters seven and eight.
For now,
Just note them in your journal.
Then,
During your practice of I-Rest,
As well as throughout your day,
Consider and affirm your inner resource as an inner felt sense that you take to be true.
Allow your inner resource to be your trusted friend that accompanies you on every step of your journey through life.
