Hello,
Dear one.
Begin to settle into your body and your breath,
Whatever that looks like to you.
And as you settle in,
Know that this is a calm as you are space.
So come scattered,
Come messy.
If you're anything like me,
Come with some coffee spillage on your clothes,
But just arrive.
Arrive by telling your body that you are here.
You are awake.
You are listening.
Notice if this presence allows you to naturally begin to anchor into your breath.
It is in these spaces of arriving messy or arriving with what we want to name as imperfect,
Where we find our humanity.
And when we find our humanity,
We find connection with our wholeness.
My dear,
You were never made to push these parts away or name them as shameful,
But to sift through them with loving palms.
Flip your palms so they are facing up and rest them on your lap.
Hold the entirety of you,
Your losses,
Your shadows,
What you've named to be shortcomings and your brave steps forward.
Let your breath find more space in the crevices of you that make you whole.
Repeat these loving words to yourself.
What makes me human is what makes me beautiful.
What makes me human is what makes me beautiful.
Any part of you that you have been taught or told or programmed to shame or outcast are the parts of you that make you whole.
Now soften your hands so your fingertips begin to curl back towards your body.
See how you can continue holding the entirety of you,
But with softness.
How all of your named losses,
Shadows,
Shortcomings,
As well as your brave steps forward can be held with love and grace.
Notice how when held with softness,
The holding becomes lighter,
Almost effortless.
Is there anywhere where you feel that release of effort in your body,
Hips,
Belly,
Shoulders,
Jaw,
Eyes,
Forehead,
Hips,
Belly,
Shoulders,
Jaw,
Eyes,
Forehead?
Holding our humanity with softness,
This is what it is to be human.
Every part of you that you have been told to push away is a part of you that aches to be held and sifted through with loving palms.
Feel your breath expand into the wholeness of who you are.
Allow your breath to fill up corners of you that are so beautifully messy and human and you.
With your breath,
Filling up those parts,
Begin to lengthen your spine and feel a little taller,
More expansive,
Lifted,
Bigger,
More full of you.
What makes you human is what makes you beautiful.
Thank you so much for being here with me today,
Sweet one,
And remembering our humanity together.
I'll see you next time.
