
Talk: Transforming Procrastination

This is an insightful and deep talk that guides us to not be confused but to be here in this moment. Use this practice in order to focus on deep breathing to communicate with our deep knowingness & manifest our potential.
Transcript
And as you find a comfortable position to relax into making sure that all distractions in the background are not disturbing you and making sure that your body is comfortable so that you're in an upright position or at least able to breathe in without constrictions,
Without the body slumping or crouching or the shoulders holding on too tightly to distress or mundane thoughts,
Just making sure that your body is open and receptive to the energy transmission.
As you breathe in and breathe out,
You continue working with the intention of transforming procrastination or this idea that if we wait things will change,
Transforming this idea into an active communication with your potential,
Meaning that the change that you already deep,
Deep inside of yourself know to be part of the flow,
Part of that which is manifesting,
That deep,
Deep inner knowingness is the potential that you can reach out for and manifest in a very concrete way.
We know that procrastination is often a result of a confused mind or a very overwhelmed mind,
Meaning that the mind is confused in the sense that it's focused on too many things all at once.
If the mind is unable to focus on one thing at a time,
Then we know that very often it's losers focus and because our intention isn't to go with the flow,
Because we're jumping from one thing to another or trying to do things that don't really make sense because they're not part of the flow,
Then procrastination becomes a self-defense mechanism that we play out in the activity,
In our spiritual activity,
But also in our everyday mundane living type activity from simple things,
Just attending to things that you know just don't need to linger for any longer,
To more profound things,
Deep changes that you know are possible and you know that with a little bit of energy you will be able to transform that which is already in transformation,
But because of procrastination then very often there is a tendency to sabotage or to fall into this victim state of mind where the energy isn't sufficient to support you through such transformation or at least the belief system that the energy isn't there to support you through this transformation.
And it's very easy to address procrastination.
In the end it's not about doing everything,
It's not about pushing yourself,
It's not about judging yourself or trying different new things to change your habits if you've become habituated to procrastination.
It's not about any of those things really,
Even though those things may help,
It's all about creating clarity within yourself so that the priorities that can be addressed in this moment are actually addressed.
So rather than think about the next moment and get confused about all the things that you're thinking about,
This moment can be utilized in its fullest sense.
This means that you're open to addressing the situation right now from the present moment rather than from what you think needs to be done.
So this engages a different part of yourself in the movement towards transformation.
This engages a part of yourself that is more intuitive,
That is more directly connected to the actual experience that's happening,
The actual physical but also emotional and mental experience because as soon as we embody ourselves within this moment then what we're thinking about is more connected to this moment,
What we're feeling is more connected to this moment and we are physically more manifest in this moment.
It's so very easy and so many people just observe,
Just out of curiosity observe how many people are embodied in this moment as you walk around maybe in a shopping mall or as you walk around in a busy place such as an airport or in a city somewhere.
Just observe how people are more connected to the thoughts that they're having which very often have nothing to do with this moment rather than being here present and acknowledging their state of presence through their actions.
You'll be surprised and so it's just interesting to do this because you'll be surprised that perhaps 90% of the people that you're observing aren't really here.
They may sort of drift into this moment here just to avoid bumping into a post office box or into the little dog that's walking on the street or just to make sure that their orientation is able to take them to wherever they are going.
But if you look 95%,
90 to 95% of people as you look at them are somewhere else.
They're not really here.
So to judge yourself or to give yourself a hard time because that's what you're doing is not really useful.
It's just interesting to be mindful of the situation,
To be aware of the situation because as you become aware that this is what you are doing and this is what your culture and social feedback around you,
The people around you,
The situations around you giving you the feedback that being connected to the mind is actually more important than being connected to this present beautiful moment,
Your body being grounded here on this earth.
It's not in the mind,
In a very busy,
Confused mind,
That's not such an important aspect because it's so mundane,
It's so trivial,
It's so,
Well,
Not so interesting for the mind.
The mind needs a different type of activity to be entertained and just to be present and mindful of your breath or the fact that your feet are touching the ground or the fact that you are here looking at things that are around you.
It's just not so interesting for a busy and often confused mind.
As you notice this around you,
As you notice this is the norm of communication around you,
Be aware to transform this what seems normal,
This idea that it's okay to be separate from yourself,
From your physical body,
From the emotions that you're experiencing right now,
From the beautiful thoughts,
The creative,
Intuitive,
Direct connection to your thoughts that you're having right now.
The idea that that,
To be separate,
Is okay,
That that idea is actually valid because that's what you're doing so then you've created a sort of validation in your actions.
That in itself is not only victimizing to that part of yourself that can be empowered by being here but also very,
Very subtly a way of saying to yourself that you're not really able to do anything than to just think about things.
You're not able to change things in this moment because you're not here,
You're not present to anything that is right here and important to you.
When it comes to thoughts,
The thoughts happen and you are not empowered to change them because they are not connected to this moment.
A thought that you have in this moment can very easily be changed but a thought that is part of a buildup of energy that is much more related to your past or your future cannot really be changed so easily.
It requires that you first come back here to the present moment before you're empowered enough to be able to change the flow of thinking that results from being lost in your past or lost in future perspectives or ideas or paradigms that it's normal to be separate from this moment.
So you're not empowered to transform your thoughts.
If you're present right here,
All you have to do is just change your focus.
That's very easy because if you are thinking about two things that are happening right now,
Say you're walking,
You're thinking about your feet as they touch the ground,
As they help you to walk and move towards wherever you're going and at the same time you are thinking about something and you realize,
Oh,
I've just forgotten my feet.
Now I'm drifting back to a thought even though that thought could be,
Oh,
What was that sound?
Was that a bird?
What type of bird?
It's a very beautiful sound.
Instead of being pulled into thinking,
You could just say,
Oh,
I come back to my feet touching the ground and I'm here.
And so the thought doesn't become conceptual but rather becomes embracing of the moment.
So you listen to the sound rather than try to understand what the sound is.
You just absorb the energy of the sound and some part of you will know already that that's a sound of a bird.
You don't need to think what type of bird is it unless you are some sort of scientist trying to investigate something and then you're present to those thoughts in a very direct and very profound way.
So the fact that you can empower yourself in this moment by addressing whatever it is that needs your attention and there aren't so many choices and the choices are very clear unlike if you are caught in a thought about the past,
Oh,
That noise,
That sound reminds me of something when I was five,
Oh,
And I really didn't feel so nice.
And then the feeling reminds you of another feeling,
Oh,
And I wasn't so happy either.
And then you're nowhere here in this moment.
You're already out there in another dimension of reality which isn't really helpful when you know that the present moment is infinite in its multi-dimensionality.
So you can be present in this moment to everything within all dimensions of your experience.
So the fact that you're touching the earth means that you're touching the many dimensions of the experience that you have as you walk upon this earth,
As you walk your spiritual path.
And there are connections within the brain,
The neurons,
Fire and wire,
Not only just because you're thinking a thought but also because you recognize experiences.
Those experiences are direct and that recognition sometimes bypasses thinking but it's still as valid and it still gives you clarity as to what is really going on in the situation.
But that requires a state of empowerment.
And being empowered means that you need to be here in this present moment because this means that you're able to directly connect to the information that's being communicated.
And hence why rather than just thinking about things you can intuit and speak to parts of yourself,
Connect to parts of yourself and be engaged in the world of experience in a way that is so very different.
And you know this already because if you look around 95% of people aren't engaged in such communication,
They're engaged in what seems normal.
And that perspective of being connected to the future and the past and falling into the disempowerment that results from such engagement to those paradigms where being here,
Being present means that you're very different.
It's not what human beings do in this social context that we understand and that we're socialized as we grow up,
That we're socialized to believe to be the reality,
To be the paradigm by which we need to live.
Now if you understand this through experience,
Not just through a concept,
Then already things begin to make a lot of sense.
And the practice is simple,
Just being mindful of this present moment,
Identifying things as they flow through you.
Okay,
This is a thought,
Okay this is a feeling,
But not getting caught by the flow that pulls you outside of the flow that's happening through mindfulness,
Through being present,
Through being aware.
So as soon as you find yourself falling,
Drifting back into that old paradigm,
That old way of understanding reality,
Then you just say,
Oh there,
That habit is so powerful,
I'm identifying this habit that is pulling me towards itself,
But now in this present moment I'm here.
And so being here,
It's impossible to procrastinate,
Because being here means you're empowered to address things in the moment as they are,
Not think about them,
Wait for them to happen,
But as they are.
So then you become super efficient,
You become superhuman,
Meaning that your energy is so very focused,
It's addressing everything as it happens.
And you not only feel more empowered and experience the world as an easier place to exist and manifest your energy within,
But also you receive energy from your environment.
You know this,
Being present,
Totally present to an experience,
You are in direct communication to the energy that you're receptive to,
And that energy supports you so that the flow is very powerful.
This is why when we're totally focused on what we're doing,
Then we're totally present to the energy that we're receiving from what we're doing,
Whether it be walking,
Whether it be a thought,
Whether it be a deduction,
Whether it be a feeling,
Whether it be a state of presence to a beautiful experience that's happening,
Or even an experience that is challenging you.
So the energy flow is empowered from your presence rather than disempowered by your thoughts losing track of what is going on and disconnecting and moving to the future,
To an idea of the future,
To a belief system about the future,
Or being sustained by very often the negativity of the past,
And so being drained energetically just because of feelings that are unresolved,
Or thoughts that victimize your belief system about yourself,
I'm not good enough,
Or I'll never be able to do whatever it is.
All those thoughts,
Very often related to the past,
Then drain you of energy.
So procrastination then becomes a reason in itself.
You're too energetically,
Or you don't have the energy to interact and communicate in a very powerful and strong way with the situation.
You need to rest,
You need to recoup,
You need to sort out things,
You need to nurture yourself so that you can get back into shape,
You need to do many things.
There are so many needs and desires.
In procrastination,
And the habit of procrastination becomes a subconscious part of your everyday living.
And many people do this.
So I'm not asking you to judge yourself or to give yourself a hard time,
Because as you know when you look around,
Many people do this.
But do you want to do things just because many people do things,
Or do you want to be different?
To be different and to approach things from a perspective that's very different from what perhaps you've learned,
What you've been taught to think,
And perhaps very different from what people around you will see as normal.
Because it's not normal to be so focused and to be so efficient in what you're doing.
We need a certain amount of negativity to fit in,
Or a certain amount of sabotage.
We need to sort of nurture the inner saboteur on some level to fit in to the normal paradigm of living,
Where the inner saboteur is very much what we're focused upon.
So presence means that you let go of procrastination,
But also you let go of this comfortable situation of feeling that the world around you dictates the way you need to think.
So being superhuman means that already you step aside,
Outside of what is done in the world or around you or in constellations that you belong to,
Just out of pure habit,
And you come back to understanding what are your priorities.
Where is your priority in this moment?
What is important?
What sustains happiness and joy in this moment?
As soon as you know this,
Then that gives you reason to connect to the most efficient way of addressing those priorities in a way that could be very different from the way that you've learnt,
The way that you have been taught to think,
The way that seems normal.
So this unlearning process we continue investigating in tomorrow's satsang.
As you let go,
As you breathe in and breathe out and let go of the mundane,
Let go of those thoughts,
Just observe them as they come and go.
Come back to the state of presence,
To the state of wonderful being here in this moment.
Just open and receptive.
Make sure that your body is open and receptive.
Your mind doesn't like to be challenged,
So breathe in,
Open up,
Make sure the shoulders are relaxed,
Make sure the chest is open,
As you breathe in,
Receptive to the energy flow that supports you,
And letting go of things to be done tomorrow and just being here,
Flowing,
Moving along with this beautiful flow,
This inner flow that allows you to express your being in a wonderfully empowered way,
Breathing in and breathing out.
As you breathe in and breathe out,
The sound of your breath vibrating inside of your body,
Listen to the breath as you breathe in deeply,
Listen to the breath,
The gentle movement of breath as it moves from the nostrils down into the abdomen,
Deep breath,
Flowing breath,
The vibration of the breath is as if the breath that you're breathing in in this present moment is the breath of life.
It is as if the universe is breathing in with you,
As if the universe is breathing through you,
The breath of life,
As you open up to the vibration of breath,
We continue with the Hoongs mantra.
