So,
Just as we get ready for the transmission,
Just finding a comfortable position to either lie down and relax the body in a comfortable position or to sit up with the posture upright,
Straight,
So you're not scrunched,
Your body is comfortably relaxed,
But at the same time the posture is aligned to what allows the breath to flow with ease,
Without resistance,
Without the normal constrictions that the body sometimes holds without even the mind being aware of such.
Sometimes these constrictions are physically so normal for the body to experience that it's not clear that this is what is happening in the body.
So even if,
While sitting in a comfortable position,
Even if it feels unnatural to have your spine aligned straight in a balanced way,
Then simply just make sure that your posture is correct,
Your shoulders are back straight and your chest is open and you're breathing in a natural way.
It's important to make sure that your posture is a posture that allows for receptivity.
As you breathe in and breathe out,
Not only are you intentionally creating a receptive mode within yourself,
But also your physical body is aligned to this intention.
So you're breathing in and breathing out,
Mind,
Body and energy are connected and transmitting the same message to the universe.
This beautiful message of,
I'm open and receptive to the wisdom of the universe,
I'm open and receptive to the wonderful gifts that the universe can provide me in this moment.
Without creating this space,
It's very difficult to be receptive.
We might think that in our minds we might think that we are being receptive to a situation,
But if the energy and the physical posture communicate a different perspective,
Then the subconscious always wings out over what we think we believe or what we think we are thinking.
Because beyond that level of awareness there is another level of communication that's even beyond the subconscious mind.
As part of us that creates habits and attitudes and belief systems and just simple ways of living that portray that which we truly believe in rather than perhaps a more colorful belief system that seems to match our personality.
There is the real essential quality of belief systems that we carry in the way that we walk,
That we carry in the way that we talk,
That we carry in the way that we present ourselves to the world.
That's what creates a little bit of confusion sometimes in meditation for the body and also for the state of awareness.
The confusion being that we think we believe something or we think we are portraying a perspective because that's what the mind is occupied with,
But down deep,
Deep within the layers that are sometimes unseen and unknown and just so very hidden that they don't communicate their message as strongly as our thoughts,
There is an attitude that we can only change by embracing.
We can only change by coming face to face with this attitude or this space,
This energy,
This belief system that then acknowledges from within the attitude the possibility to look beyond that picture out towards a potential that sometimes we don't believe in.
And sometimes that belief system is that limitation or that constriction that holds us back,
But we need to embrace that from a perspective of understanding and wisdom rather than just trying to change the thoughts that we have about such belief systems.
If within the muscles of your body there is a belief system that your body is so very used to and has just created an attitude that this is reality,
An attitude that you believe deep within yourself to be that which is more real,
Then it doesn't matter how many positive thoughts you have about whatever it is that you are thinking,
That inner quality that is dormant within the attitude that you are carrying compromises the positive thoughts and brings them down to a level that doesn't really communicate positivity or receptivity.
It's very important to be honest with oneself and to be real with oneself.
It doesn't really help to cover up or colour one's real essential quality of that which is being portrayed in this moment with nicer thoughts or pretenses.
That's not what meditation is about.
So it's very important that not only do we open up to our potential by aligning the body in a posture that is more receptive,
But that we open up to that which is present within us.
Sometimes these things that we begin to discover about ourselves aren't always the things that we want to look at if those things are creating moments of suffering or situations that then create suffering.
But it's the only way.
If you don't look at the situation from a real perspective then you are just going to create unreal situations around you just like a thought,
Okay I'm going to change doesn't really change anything because the eye that you are trying to change doesn't exist.
That's just another thought that you've created about yourself.
The real that is behind the eye that you can't see or can't comprehend isn't actually needing to be changed in any way because this part of yourself,
The real eye is perfect.
And the imperfection lies in the constrictions and limitations that you hold onto.
This is why being receptive means that you are being open to all and everything.
And pretending means that you are just changing one belief system for another.
And you'll have to change too many things to keep up with all the ideas that you believe to be better for yourself.
You are perfect so those ideas will take you away from your perfection.
But you don't believe that you're perfect.
See there is some part inside that says oh no I'm not really that perfect because then you can list a whole list of different experiences,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Situations,
Health problems,
Whatever,
Perspectives,
Belief systems that you want to change and say look and you point out that these things aren't perfect.
And of course that's correct on one level of perception but from a deeper perspective all these things are created simply because you are creating them through this attitude.
And so if you look at what communication,
If you look at the communication that lies beyond this judgment or this dualistic conceptual way of looking at what is happening as your experience then you look at the present moment.
And this present moment really doesn't carry within it the perspective of the past and the perspective of the future.
So if you drop that then you are embracing the moment as it is.
So you're embracing yourself as you are rather than as you wish yourself to be and judge this is good or that is not so good,
This and that,
Good and bad,
All gets pushed aside because it's not that important in this moment.
Embracing your breathing so that your breathing is complete,
Circular,
Not limited by the thoughts that pop into your mind or feelings that pop into your perspective of perception.
But you're just here,
Present to the breath as you come back to the essential quality of life.
And the perfection that you're looking for no longer seems to be out there.
Life itself begins to flow through your breath.
Life energy begins to express and communicate the attributes of love,
Connectedness,
Nonjudgmental attitudes within this moment,
Within who you are,
Within the real that the I is in this moment rather than the perception of the I.
So then everything transforms quite naturally without effort and this constant search for something out there that is better because you believe that this here is not so good becomes comical and it's actually funny to look at.
It's not funny for those who are suffering but it's funny when you realize that that suffering you're creating in this moment.
You are creating this suffering and it's funny to have this idea that you can change it from such creative creations and there are so many creative creations happening.
No,
There are so many judgments and thoughts happening all at once that sometimes it's even difficult to keep up.
But if you can relax into this moment and flow with life energy then the love,
Connectedness,
Oneness that is all life becomes much more clear even for the mind that is often very stubbornly caught in the past or in the future or in whichever perspectives you've created from such.
Even the mind begins to understand that there is no reason to constantly create this turmoil or chaos within this moment,
That all is perfect.
So as you breathe in and breathe out drop your thoughts and just embrace the stillness,
The quietness of this moment through not struggling,
Through not trying to change this or that but through the realization that you are perfect in this moment.
There is no need to pretend that you are perfect,
You are perfect with all your imperfections.
So embrace,
And it may be difficult today to put this into practice,
Embrace things as they are rather than as you want them to be.
Drop your thoughts which are always connected to your desires and your needs and come back to embracing with gratitude this moment.
Deep prayer,
Letting go.
As you let go we continue with the Hu mantra.
Mahaka Mahakasyapa.
You You You
