We are surrounded by miracles every day. They are so present and so reliable that we can take them for granted. This meditation is an opportunity to reflect on some of these benefits. Time is also allowed for each of us to consider for ourselves the question "What is your everyday miracle?". Background music is "Eternal Dreams" and "Meet your Soul" both tracks by Narek Mirzaei of Music of Wisdom

Dear friends,

What is your everyday miracle?

A little device in your pocket that allows you to access the stored information of humanity.

Just imagine travelling back in time and producing that little miracle in the old library of Alexandria.

What is your everyday miracle?

Stepping into a metal cylinder and being whisked across the world as you are fed and entertained.

Take a look back at the earliest attempts at human flight.

Who could have imagined what later proved possible?

What is your everyday miracle?

Pressing a switch and finding your house brightly lit.

For thousands of years people struggling in semi-darkness could never have dreamed of such a thing.

What is your everyday miracle?

Speaking face to face with another person half way across the world.

Not so long ago we had to wait years for the installation of a fixed landline and before that,

Well,

That was it.

What is your everyday miracle?

Seeing a photo of the earth appearing as a distant dot from the vantage point of Voyager 1,

6 billion kilometres from home.

The universe is amazing and so are we.

What is your everyday miracle?

Nature painting autumn colours on trees and plants.

Reminding us it's time to take it easy as the days grow shorter.

Why don't we listen?

What is your everyday miracle?

The morning sun dancing through the trees singing it's a new day.

A reminder to greet this new day with gratitude.

I had one yesterday and the day before and here comes another one.

Now what is your own everyday miracle?

If you have little time to spare,

Spend five minutes now remembering and giving thanks.

Because your life is a miracle and everything that surrounds you is a miracle.

What a wonderful world.

Namaste.

This was lovely. I enjoyed the self-guided 5 min gratitude practice at the end. There is so much for which to be grateful, even in these challenging, turbulent times.: The wonders of the natural world. Science! Boundless love. Technology that enables InsightTimer, with all the wisdom it delivers to help guide us on the path. And you, Tony! Deep bow, metta and thank you!!! πŸ™ 🌞🌷

Beautiful and refreshing! One minor detail that could be helpful: maybe add a bell at the end to signal that it has finished. Thank you!

Waking up each morning is my everyday miracle Tony. When you spoke of the instant messaging we have now I thought of how a rider would ride horseback for days nonstop to get an important message to the Queen and then back again with the reply and when people immigrated to another country how long their loved ones left behind would wait for a letter.
