Night Prayer - Universe To The Source Of All

The wonderful Carl Sagan tells us that “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star stuff. Dear friends,

The wonderful Carl Sagan tells us that the cosmos is within us.

We are made of star stuff.

We are a way for the universe to know itself.

Therefore,

The night prayer that follows can be said to be a prayer of thanksgiving from the universe to the source of all that is.

May this prayer inspire you to come to a place of gratitude at the end of each day.

Spirit of creation,

Whom we inadequately refer to by the name God,

As the night falls and the world goes quiet,

I come to you in gratitude and awe.

Thank you for the gift of this day and for all the blessings and challenges it brought.

I pray for peace in my heart and in the hearts of all those around me.

I ask for your protection as I rest tonight and for the comfort of your presence to surround me.

May I wake up refreshed and ready to face whatever the new day may bring.

Amen.

It is uncharted territory, Tony. Yesterday, I couldn’t do much more than lie on the couch. But today, I came over to one of the local beaches where I’ve been with my mom and sibs countless times over the years. Knowing how much she loved the shore, I walked it for her today, making it a shared joy again.
