Dear friends,
Just think,
Are there many things you plan to do someday?
Someday is a great excuse,
Just like tomorrow.
Someday is always a day away.
What is holding you back?
Is it lack of money?
That's a reasonable excuse,
For now.
Is it lack of time?
It cannot be that.
We are all gifted with the same amount of time.
We all have 24 hours in the day.
If lack of time is the reason,
It must be that other things are higher on your list of priorities.
We all find the time to do the things we really want to do.
Your reason for inaction on this project may have to do with your having poor time management skills.
There are many sources of free advice for improving those skills.
Take advantage of that advice.
It's very important to learn to manage your time,
So you can work on your life's priorities.
You may lack motivation.
If so,
Ask yourself,
Do you really want to do this?
Or is it a vague idea that comes up for attention every so often?
Maybe you fear failure.
Don't let this hold you back.
Doubt and fear can paralyse action.
The only way to avoid failure is never to try.
You'd be like the man in the scriptures who receives one talent and he buries it in the ground.
You will know from the story that the master was very unhappy.
Perfectionism is another reason for procrastination.
Remember the Pareto principle.
This tells us that the first 20% of the effort produces 80% of the result.
Who is going to look to see if the work is perfectly done?
Just give it a go and do your best.
There are as many reasons for procrastination as there are jobs waiting to be done.
Don't wait until you have all your ducks lined up in a row.
There are so many things we postpone until the time is just right.
The time for action will never be ideal.
The circumstances will never be just perfect.
How can you expect them to be?
The temptation we face is the idea that tomorrow will be a better day to start than today.
So now think of all those things you would like to do.
Think of them again and ask if you really want to do these things.
And tomorrow morning when you get out of bed count 5,
4,
3,
2,
1,
0.
At the count of zero step forward with concentration and determination to bring one of your dreams a step nearer reality.
Tomorrow step forward into the new you.
