We Know This

This is part guided meditation, part philosophical exploration, part sonic experiment, part mashup of words from different sources. It is purposely short, yet potentially as wide as the cosmos. It explores what we know, what we don't know and what we could know. Who knows if it is just what you are looking for today?

This we know.

The earth does not belong to us.

We belong to the earth.

This we know.

All things are connected.

Like the blood which unites one family,

All things are connected.

Whatever befalls the earth,

Befalls the daughters and sons of the earth.

We did not weave the web of life.

We are merely a strand on it.

Whatever we do to the web,

We do to ourselves.

This we know.

We know this too.

There are some things we think we know.

There are many things we don't know.

There are even more things we have yet to know.

What's more,

There is a near infinity of things that we don't even know we don't know.

One thing we do know is this.

When we think we know all that is to know,

We stop knowing and growing.

This we know.

But just think about this for a minute.

How do you know if you actually know something?

What is it you know about this thing that you know?

What don't you know about the thing you think you know so much about?

And what do you know about the process of acquiring more knowledge about what you already know so much about?

And what about all those things you have yet to know?

This we know.

We belong to the cosmos.

All things are connected.

Like the gravity and soul waves that bring all galaxies,

Stars,

Planets,

Moons and us together.

We are all one.

We all come from the same source.

We will all return to the same source.

Whatever befalls the cosmos,

Befalls the daughters and sons of the cosmos.

We did not weave the web of life.

We are merely a strand on it.

Whatever we do to the web,

We do to ourselves.

This we know.
