This the last and first of these short stories. It is inspired by Key 0 (also Key 22) of the Tarot - The Fool, which is also the wisest card in the pack as it possesses the wisdom of Aleph, the Life Breath. Sometimes our wildest dreams are right under our noses.

Key 0 and Key 22,

Blindingly obvious.

The youth and his dog were inseparable.

Everywhere he wandered,

The dog was a step behind,

Always just off his left heel.

Any time a mugger came near,

The dog would warn them off.

His bark was worse than his bite,

But the unsavory characters didn't know this.

If the boy saw a beggar,

He'd reach into his travel bag and bring out some food,

And often he'd delve deeper,

Find his wallet and give them some money.

Every evening he would always find somewhere warm and dry to sleep,

Either under an olive tree,

Or most often,

A stranger would welcome him into their home.

Although times were hard,

People felt they could trust this traveller,

Who had a calm and kind look on his face.

He was always smiling and looking at the sun.

The youth never stayed more than one night anywhere.

Nobody knew his name,

But everyone was touched by him in a strange way,

A day or so later.

On the evenings where people shared their food with him,

He would ask three questions of them.

What is your passion?

What is your wildest dream?

What would you do if your wildest dream came to pass?

After the boy left,

His hosts would chance across the most amazing serendipity within a day or two.

The dream that they shared with the stranger would come to pass,

But in a bizarre way.

What they had longed for was always,

Always right under their noses.

Even stranger still was that the youth never returned to anywhere he stayed,

So was oblivious to the effect he was causing on his travels.

Only the dog knew what was blindingly obvious.

A nice shake of my brain - much like the dog as it might shake its fur after getting wet. Ripple effect in action, unseen topside effects by the pebble now resting on the bottom of the riverbed. My mind needed to be jiggled out of the loop it has been caught in the last couple of days. This did the trick. Thank you for sharing this latest insightful story with us. I see the light in you. ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿปโค๏ธ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป
