Has anyone let you down recently and badly? Well this happened to me last month, from a source that was somewhat surprising. So I threw my toys out of the pram and fumed for a few days. Then this meditation came along, in meditation and while journalling, to help me break a pattern that I have hung on to for far too long. My hope is that it helps you as much as its creation helped me. Photo by Angela Bailey on Unsplash

Just for today,

Deal with your disillusionment.

First,

Identify its source.

Second,

Sense why it annoys you so much.

Third,

Form a plan of action.

Just for today,

Remind yourself about the hot coal.

As Buddha says,

Holding it harms nobody but yourself.

Throwing it could make it someone else's problem.

But you can use its thermal energy as the basis of transmutation.

So just for today,

Draw out your frustration.

Doodle what it looks like and how it makes you feel.

And then scrunch it up and throw that away instead.

Just for today,

It's time to write.

To journal a solution that rights the wrongs and sets the world to rights.

Just for today,

Forgive the transcresting forces.

Remind yourself about the gift that they bring.

For you to transcend.

For you to rise above it.

Just for today,

Look around for others so afflicted.

Is their gripe justified?

Or a knee-jerk reaction?

What can you do to help others in the same boat?

And just for today,

Forgive yourself.

For taking such umbrage.

For reacting before acting.

For taking it all too much to heart.

Just for today,

Make a vow.

To react differently next time.

To act from a higher plane.

To see through the illusion that causes this illusion.

I listened from curiosity but saved it from necessity. Amazed at how much value these 5 minutes delivered. A transformative reminder of our power to shift our perspective when Life throws us an unexpected curveball, allowing us to use those events as a springboard to inspired action rather than allowing them to diminish us. A definite keeper to return to for those very human moments when I momentarily forget who I am.
