"Remember The Love You Are"
by Tracy McCree
We each enter this world as pure expressions of love — whole, radiant, and unguarded. Over time, the families, cultures, and environments we grow within begin to shape how we understand and express that love. We learn through example — love that is given or withheld, earned or exchanged — and these experiences quietly weave themselves into the way we connect, protect, and survive. This meditation invites you to gently unravel those layers, to soften into the timeless love that has always lived within you, untouched, radiant and pure. In remembering, you return home — to the truth of who you are, and the love you have always been. Music: Storytelling Piano by Liborio Conti

Hello,
I'd like to welcome you here to this teaching and this meditation and guided visualization on returning to the love that we are.
What we'll do to start is just start out with some basic thoughts about love,
Maybe how we arrived at what we think the word love is,
And then I will guide you into a guided meditation,
Visualization,
And then we'll end with a quote from one of my favorite books.
So I invite you to just settle in,
And we will start with a bit of a teaching so you don't have to immediately close your eyes,
But you are welcome to do so if you prefer to do that,
To just take this in,
But I invite you to just settle in and really tune in.
Give yourself this time to listen,
Maybe even have a journal nearby for this beginning part or to journal after,
But as we settle in,
Maybe just put your hand on your heart as you listen,
And we come into this world as beings of pure love.
Not simply capable of love,
But as love.
And before we're named,
Before we're taught,
Before we speak a word,
We exist in this wholeness.
We are beings that are attuned to the rhythms of nature,
To energy,
To presence.
So I invite you,
Even in this tuned-in state of listening,
To tune into your original essence,
The very light of your being that you came into the world as.
But as time goes on,
We're born into families,
Into cultures,
Belief systems,
And environments,
And we begin to adapt.
We do this for survival,
And we learn very quickly what is safe,
What brings us connection,
What invites distance,
And we begin to form a map,
An internal blueprint of how love works in our world.
And this map is not shaped by our essence,
But by our survival.
We can think back to this for us as we tune in here.
If we're born into a home where love is conditional,
We quickly learn that love must be earned.
If in any way we're met with neglect when we cry,
We learn that our feelings threaten connection.
If we are praised only when we succeed,
We learn to suppress parts of ourselves to gain approval.
If affection is linked to performance,
Or something that we do,
Achievement,
Or obedience,
Or silence,
Then our nervous system encodes this as love.
But we remember back to the beginning we are not that.
Right?
But our original essence begins to shift and change.
Love then becomes distorted through this lens of survival.
We then carry these patterns with us into adulthood,
And often unconsciously,
And we begin to love others the way that we were taught love works.
Conditionally,
Fearfully,
With hidden expectations,
Or with self-abandonment,
We give in order to get.
We withhold in order to protect.
We please in order to avoid loss.
We create love based on our past wounding,
Not on our true nature.
But healing is the sacred process of remembering who we truly are beneath all the layers of the conditioning.
It is a return,
Not a learning,
But a remembering.
Let me repeat that,
But a remembering of our original unbroken self,
That pure essence that we came into the world with.
To heal a relationship with love,
We must begin with curiosity,
Asking ourselves some questions.
How was love shown to me?
What did I learn I had to do to receive it?
What parts of me did I hide to stay safe?
What did I believe love meant?
These are some tender questions,
But in exploring them,
We create space.
A pause between the conditioned reaction and the conscious response.
From this space,
We can choose to meet love differently.
The truth is,
Love is not a transaction.
Love is not a reward.
Love is not earned.
Love just is.
It simply is.
It is the foundation of our being.
Our work is to peel back the layers,
Soften the armor,
And reawaken that core truth.
Not just so that we can love others better,
But so we can love ourselves in ways we were never taught to.
When we do this,
We do not just transform how we love.
We transform the world we live in.
I invite you to settle in.
Close your eyes if they're already not closed.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And a slow breath out through your mouth.
And we'll now go into this guided meditation of remembering the love who you are.
I invite you to bring one shoulder up,
Back,
And down.
The other up,
Back,
And down.
Soften your jaw.
Gently rest your tongue against your teeth,
And let your body know it's safe to be here.
Take another deep breath in,
And I invite you to bring your awareness to your heart.
Again,
Maybe putting your right hand on your heart,
The center of your chest.
You don't need to do anything.
I just invite you to feel into this space.
Feel into what sensations are here.
And now I invite you gently to imagine a version of yourself new to this world,
A baby,
For memory,
Before conditioning.
This you is radiant.
Deeply attuned.
And I invite you to feel this.
Feel into the radiance that you are.
This you is love.
Not because of what you do,
But simply because of who you are.
Take a moment to just feel that.
Feel that love.
Feel that true essence of you and who you are.
Now gently imagine this child growing.
Life begins to shape them.
Perhaps there's love,
Safety,
And kindness.
And perhaps there's some confusion,
Fear,
Or pain.
Notice how this child adapts.
How this inner child,
How they learn to please,
Learn to be loved.
Learn to shrink,
Or seek,
Or to perform.
All to stay connected.
And I invite you to see this version of you with your hand on your heart.
You right now.
The light of your soul,
Your higher self,
And send them some compassion.
Take some deep breaths into this.
Letting them know that they were doing the best that they could.
Now imagine yourself walking toward that inner child.
And you kneel down beside them.
And you place your hand on their heart.
And you look them in their eyes and whisper,
You never had to earn love.
And I am here now to remind you of this.
Take some deep breaths into this truth.
And look into your eyes,
You never had to earn love.
And I am here now to remind you of that.
Deep breaths.
Let that ripple through your body,
That truth.
Breathe into your heart again.
And feel all the layers,
All the beliefs,
All the fears,
All the conditions beginning to melt.
Deep breath into that.
Let it go and down your grounding cord.
And just for this moment,
You are allowed to come home to yourself.
You are allowed to be loved without performing.
Our love remembering itself.
And as we do this,
You're guiding your inner child home,
Your hands still resting gently on your heart.
Now with your inner awareness,
Turn again to the child version of you,
Still beside you,
Still looking in your eyes.
And notice the child version of you.
Notice how they feel now.
Take another deep breath.
And notice what they might need.
Get curious about this,
Ask them.
Maybe it's comfort.
Maybe it's safety.
Maybe it's simply being here with you,
Having your presence.
And I invite you to just give them whatever they may need.
It might be something different.
To invite your higher self or the light of your soul,
The part of you that is always whole,
Always wise,
Always loving.
This version of you holds deep compassion.
And they carry no judgment,
No urgency,
No fear,
Just unconditional love.
Again,
Imagine that higher self standing beside you now.
You may see them as a radiant,
Calm,
Light-filled,
But you to envision this,
Or maybe it's just a felt sense.
They might simply feel warm,
A feeling of steadiness and trueness.
And they gently kneel beside your inner child.
And this light opens their arms.
I invite you to invite your inner child to go to your higher self and let this child feel their safety,
Their unconditional presence.
Just take your time here.
There's no need to rush.
Just allow them to connect.
And whatever way that looks for you,
It could be feeling the light,
A deep holding,
A felt sense in your body.
Just allow this connection.
And now imagine this higher self gathering your inner child close,
Either into their arms or maybe walking hand in hand.
And guiding them to a place of comfort and complete safety.
And this could be real or imaginary.
This may be a soft,
Glowing room.
It may be a wide-open meadow or a cozy sanctuary by a fire.
Let your intuition show you.
It might be something completely different.
And whatever this place is,
It is made entirely of love.
It is where your inner child belongs.
It is their homecoming.
Watch as your child settles into the space and again,
Let them guide you into what they may need.
They may curl up in a warm bed.
They may want to explore freely in the meadow.
They may want to rest.
They may want to sing.
They may want to simply breathe with you here or simply be.
And you,
The you sitting here now,
Are witnessing this reunion.
You are remembering the child is not separate from the higher self.
Take a deep breath and let that knowing settle into your heart.
Maybe even gently rub your heart if your hand is still on your heart.
And let that remembrance settle in.
The child within me is safe now.
The love I once searched for lives within me.
My higher self is always here.
It is patient.
It is present.
It is true.
And you may choose now to gently bring your inner child and higher self with you as we start to return back to the wholeness of this moment of who we are.
They may choose to stay in that safe environment or you may choose to bring them back.
Maybe they want to come back with you.
Integrated into your body,
Into your energy,
Into your breath.
Whatever feels good,
Feel into that.
Again,
They may choose to rest in their sacred space knowing you can return here whenever you need to.
And I invite you to take another deep,
Nourishing breath in.
A long,
Slow breath out.
Maybe even a sigh.
Another breath like this.
Deep breath in.
I invite you to begin to bring your awareness back to the room.
Gently feel your body again.
Your feet,
Your toes,
Maybe wiggle your toes,
Your hands.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
And when you're ready,
There's no rush.
Take your time.
I invite you to gently,
Slowly open your eyes.
And to come back with this remembrance.
Moving forward now.
Carrying.
I am whole.
And as I mentioned,
We will finish this practice with a quote from one of my favorite books,
The Choice for Love by Barbara DeAngelis.
And she says,
You do not need to be in a relationship to love.
You do not need to have conquered your fears to love.
You do not need to be fully healed from the past to love.
All you need to do to love is to feel the love that is already burning inside you.
A fire whose spark cannot be extinguished no matter how many storms have tried to swallow it.
And I invite you to sit with this next part of the quote.
Love is the living antidote for everything.
When you touch the center of your heart,
Even for a brief moment,
You are home.
May you sit with this snapshot of this remembrance of who you are.
Of this coming home to the self that you are.
To this illuminate,
Radiant being of love.
I'm so grateful to be of service today and to you.
And may we each remember the love and the light of who we are in the center of our being.
I love you because I can.
And deep bows to you on your journey.
Namaste.
