by Hadge Hughes
A guided journey floating through your cardiovascular system set to a hypnotic soundscape promoting health and wellbeing.
Transcript
In this short meditation,
The aim is to take a journey deep into yourself by imagining that you are able to ride the wave of your cardiovascular system.
You will travel from your heart throughout your entire body,
Returning again to your heart.
This is the journey of your oxygenated blood coming into your heart from your lungs before traveling your whole body,
Supplying organs and muscles with life-giving oxygen.
The cardiovascular system is a complex network of arteries taking blood rich in oxygen and veins returning blood that has spent the oxygen and needs to be replenished in the lungs before repeating the journey over again.
This vast and complex system is miraculous in its detail.
The aim of this visualization is to allow yourself to go with the flow of the natural healing and life-giving abilities of your body by way of the cardiovascular system.
You will give thanks to your red blood cells expressing your gratitude as they bring nourishment and repair to your organs,
Muscles,
Skin and skeleton.
You will give thanks and encouragement to your white blood cells as they renew and replicate in readiness to fight off infection and disease.
By lovingly giving yourself to this journey,
You will feel refreshed and confident in the knowledge that your body knows its needs and with your permission and gratitude is able to attend to those needs,
Accelerating the healing process.
So relax.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible.
This journey is more effective if you take it lying down,
Allowing yourself to drift into a state of deep relaxation and stillness.
As always,
I want you to begin with your breath.
Simply note how the air enters through your nostrils on your in-breath,
Flowing deep into your lungs as your diaphragm slowly rises and after a beat,
Leaves the lungs on your out-breath as your diaphragm gently falls.
Simply allow your breathing to normalize and find a slow,
Deep rhythm that draws you into a deep,
Relaxed state.
Let's begin the focus on your breath with a simple exercise in which I will lead you.
You will breathe in for a count of five and out for a count of five for around 30 seconds,
At which point I will leave some space for your breathing to continue in this steady rhythm.
Try not to be too focused on the counting after I have stopped.
Just allow your body to find the rhythm naturally and as it does,
So you will begin to feel increasingly more and more relaxed.
So let's do that together now.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
And breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Now that you are relaxed and feeling calm and your breathing has found its own natural steady rhythm,
I want you to imagine you are able to enter deep into your own body by visualizing yourself riding on the wave of your cardiovascular system.
If it helps,
You could imagine yourself swimming or surfing along as you leave the left side of your heart through the main artery and down through your chest and abdomen.
As you flow with the rich red blood cells,
You marvel at how readily they repair and renew your body on their journey.
Allow yourself to flow with the blood,
Noticing how deeply alive you are,
Able to feel as you feel the flow enriching your health and allowing for you to feel the energy increasing in synchronicity with the depth of calm.
You notice yourself drifting into.
From your heart,
You travel gently down through your chest and torso.
You observe the gentle rising and falling of your chest.
At this microscopic level,
You can marvel at the intricacy and brilliant functionality of every bone,
Muscle and fiber involved in the mechanical processes of your body.
The lungs are the engine room of the body,
Drawing in beneficial air and blowing out the byproducts of the energy exchange taking place throughout your entire body.
Passing on from the lungs,
You travel through the concentration of vital organs in your lower abdomen,
Your stomach,
Intestines,
Liver and kidneys and other organs associated with them.
Each of them gratefully receives the oxygen rich blood which aids them in their own function within your body.
Food is digested as nutrients are absorbed back into the blood flow to be distributed throughout the body wherever they are needed.
All impurities are moved down through the complex system of the intestines into the bowel and bladder,
Ready to be expelled as your body is cleansed.
In cooperation with each of the organs,
The blood flow becomes much more than a transportation system.
It is a living,
Throbbing,
Beating life support system and with every beat of your heart it celebrates life as it courses through you and now you too can consciously celebrate your life as you ride the wave of your cardiovascular system.
As you continue the journey,
Flowing freely through the arteries down through your hips and groin and into your thighs,
Notice,
I'm sure you can,
Notice how renewed and renewed and relaxed you're feeling as the blood flows effortlessly down through your thighs,
Then calves and into your feet to the very tips of your toes.
All the while you are aware of the healing work of your red cells as they repair any damage to the cells of your body.
As you follow the blood back through your legs and again into your abdomen,
Notice how it feels,
What sensations are you experiencing in and around the abdomen.
Notice these feelings and then let them go.
Allow any discomfort or pain to be easily and gently replaced by feelings of relaxation and calm.
Encourage the white blood cells to begin their renewal and replenishing so that they too can get on with their job of eradicating any disease or infection wherever it may be in your body.
Allow yourself a little smile in the knowledge that your body knows how to do all of this without you having to even think about it and yet now that you are mindful of it,
You can rest in the knowledge that those white blood cells will continue to renew and replenish and grow in number so that they can carry out the work assigned to them.
Now follow the blood stream up through your chest and into your shoulders,
Allowing yourself to drift down the arms and across your elbows,
Through your wrists and into your hands to the very tips of your fingers.
Notice that they may even tingle just a little as the blood fills your fingers before making its return journey up through your arms and into your neck.
Take a moment to scan through your entire body,
Noticing how relaxed and calm you feel and allow that feeling to increase as the blood flows up through your neck and face and into your head.
Finally,
Allow yourself to drift down with the flow of blood from the top of your head down through your face and your neck and your shoulders into the top of your chest,
Coming to rest again in your heart,
Bringing about a total feeling of relaxation and calm,
Knowing that the healing you desire is happening with every beat of your heart as it pumps the blood smoothly throughout your entire body.
Rest in this state of calm,
Giving thanks for the miracle of your cardiovascular system,
Knowing that it continues on through night and day,
Flowing through your entire body,
Bringing health and healing as it flows.
Rest now for just a little longer.
When you're ready,
Come back into your breathing and into the present moment,
Sensing a deep gratitude for your own body and its ability to heal.

I really enjoyed this. I am a health and wellness coach so it really spoke to me and I could see in my minds eye different infermities being broken up and dissolved by my white blood cells. And I could see my red blood cells repairing my body. It was super cool. And the chakra balancing music in the background was spot on. Thank you very much
