Hello,
My name is Rachel and today's practice will be doing a self-love meditation and it's so easy to show the world all the love and forget to take the time to show ourselves love.
And the way we show ourselves love is the way we teach others to love us.
So you can get comfortable in an upright seated position and beginning to take in all your surroundings,
Noticing any colors,
Shapes,
Patterns,
And with the next out breath you can gently close the eyes.
Beginning to notice any sounds.
Maybe there's a smell,
A leftover taste in your mouth.
And beginning to notice any points of contact between you and the surface below.
Noticing how your thighs touch the surface below,
If your weight falls evenly,
Where your hands are placed and the warmth underneath,
How your clothing feels against your skin,
How the air feels against your skin,
And starting to place your attention on the breath,
And where you feel it the most in your body.
Following each in breath and each out breath,
And noticing how your body moves.
And you can gently take your right hand and place it over your heart,
Noticing if you feel a heartbeat,
And when we think of self-care and self-love,
We can think about taking care of our physical needs.
But not always is that what we're really looking for.
Self-care and self-love can mean trusting our heart,
Our intuition,
And saying no when we really want to say no.
And this sounds a lot more simple than it is.
This can be one of the hardest things for us to do.
So just for right now,
I want you to see if you can put all doubt and negative thoughts to the side and do this practice.
And if you're having a hard time feeling self-love today,
Just know that you woke up this morning,
So there must be somebody,
Something that loves you and believes that you are contributing to the world today.
So you can silently repeat these mantras after me.
I am worthy of love.
I will accept love from others.
I will allow love for myself.
I will take care of my physical and emotional needs.
I will trust my intuition.
Letting yourself soak in all those mantras,
Noticing how you feel.
And we'll repeat these one more time.
I am worthy of love.
I will accept love from others.
I will allow love for myself.
I will take care of my physical and emotional needs.
I will trust my intuition.
Letting these mantras surround you,
Hold you,
Guide you.
And either in your mind's eye or you can physically wrap your arms around yourself and give yourself a hug.
Nobody can love you like you can love yourself.
Noticing what it feels like to hold you in the way that nobody else can.
Feeling safe and loved.
And from this space I want you to ask yourself this question.
How can I show myself more love every day?
How can I show myself more love every day?
And setting the intention to follow through with this answer starting today.
You can begin to slowly reconnect with the surface on which you're seated on.
Noticing where your hands are placed.
How the material of your clothing feels against your skin.
Becoming aware of any sounds,
Any smells,
Any leftover taste in your mouth.
And you can start to make any small movements that feel comfortable.
In your own time whenever you feel ready to do so,
Gently opening your eyes and noticing all the different sights.
Thank you so much for joining me here today.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
