Hi,
Thank you for joining me here today.
So today we'll be doing a affirmations meditation.
And this can be a great practice when you're feeling a little anxious or just in need of some self-love.
So you can start by getting comfortable in a seated upright position.
Beginning to take in all your surroundings.
And placing your attention on your breath.
Noticing the rise and the fall.
And with the next out breath,
Gently closing your eyes if you haven't already done so.
Noticing all the different sounds in the room.
The sound of my voice.
The sound of your breath.
And maybe noticing a smell.
If there's leftover taste in your mouth.
And noticing all the different points of touch between you and the surface below.
Keeping yourself firmly rooted to the surface on which you're seated on.
Just surrendering to the seat below.
Letting it completely hold you.
And noticing your breath,
Each rise and each fall.
And placing your attention on this movement just for a moment.
And if your mind wanders,
Gently returning it back to the breath.
Back to that movement.
And you can gently bring your attention to your heart.
Noticing if you feel a heartbeat.
And if not,
That's perfectly okay.
And from this space,
You can quietly repeat these affirmations after me.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am held.
And letting any emotions arise.
And just returning back to the movement of your heartbeat.
And repeating again after me.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am held.
Letting these affirmations wash over you,
Surround you.
And now you can bring to mind somebody either who you love dearly or maybe someone who you have a more difficult relationship with.
Letting this person come to your mind.
And you can quietly repeat after me.
You are safe.
You are loved.
You are held.
And one more time.
You are safe.
You are loved.
You are held.
And imagining that you can throw these affirmations at them and give them over to this person.
And from this space of love,
Show yourself some love and gratitude for showing up here today and taking the time out to do this practice.
There's no greater sense of self-love.
So returning to the surface on which you're seated on.
Noticing how your weight falls.
If it falls evenly.
Noticing where your hands are resting.
Any smells in the room.
What sounds you can hear.
And beginning to make any small movements that feel comfortable.
And in your own time,
Whenever you feel ready to do so,
You can gently open your eyes,
Returning to all your surroundings.
Thank you for joining me here today.
