This is a practice to create a safe space in your body for you to process your emotions. It follows the 5 steps of noticing, naming, owning it, inviting it in and letting it be. You may practice as many times as needed when emotions are lingering, when you're feeling a lot, not sure what you're feeling or if you want to practice getting in touch with your emotions in general.

Hello,

And welcome to this sacred space for you.

This meditation is about learning to feel,

To process the emotions inside your body.

Because of our upbringing,

Personality,

Or past experiences,

It might be difficult for us to access certain emotions or allow ourselves to feel at all.

Emotions live in the body,

And so the aim here is not necessarily to express them,

But rather create a safe space within the body where we can allow ourselves to feel and process them.

Please get comfortable,

Seated or lying down,

And start tuning into your body.

Take a deep inhale through your nose,

Inflating your belly.

And as you exhale through your nose,

Just feel yourself sinking into your body.

Deep breath in again.

And down the out breath,

Become more and more present within yourself.

First start to notice any sensation that might be lingering within your body.

Notice you can do a little scan,

And you can begin to name or describe within you,

If possible,

The sensations.

It might be a tingling,

Or tension,

Or tightness.

It might be loose and relaxed.

It might be numb.

But stick to the sensations.

If you can't find a word,

You might put a color or a sound to the sensations you're experiencing.

Keep breathing and tune into any sensations present within your body.

Now,

Know that this sensation is yours.

Take ownership for it.

It's communication from your unconscious to your conscious,

And it's helping you understand what your needs are.

As you continue to breathe,

Take full ownership of these sensations that your body created.

Nobody can make you feel this way.

The sensations simply are.

Now invite it in.

Feel what you're feeling like you want it to be there.

Invite the sensations.

Let them become stronger if they want,

Or just pay attention to them.

Invite them to grow and spread through your body,

A full invitation.

Welcome it,

Knowing that it is here to serve you.

It is a part of you that wants to be felt by you.

Breathe into this feeling.

Keep breathing as you allow this sensation to take over your body.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out.

Now tuning into your body,

You may let the sensation go or let it stay.

Let it do whatever it wants,

Whatever it wishes.

Let your focus move away from the sensation and slowly come back to your present state.

Now once again,

Start to notice how you feel in this new present moment.

Notice the sensations within your body.

Has it changed from when we started this meditation?

Is it similar but to a different degree?

Or is it the same?

Just notice.

Perhaps you can describe or name the sensations you're currently noticing.

You may repeat this process or you may take a deep breath and breathe out with a sigh as you prepare to finish your meditation.

Stay present with yourself for a few more seconds and you may start moving your body in any way it needs to start landing back into the present moment.

Thank yourself for gifting yourself this opportunity to feel.

Take care.
