Find a comfortable way to be and gently begin to notice your breath,
Your inhale and your exhale.
This is an invitation to be here now.
About four slow inhales and four slow exhales.
Fill your body deeply with cleansing oxygen on your inhale and release any tension on your exhale.
In your mind's eye,
Bring yourself to a spot next to a small creek.
See if you can sense the coolness of the air and the feelings of the ground beneath you.
Simply watch and listen to the creek flow by.
In each moment,
The creek is brand new,
Over and over again as water flows.
It is normal for your mind to wander.
When you notice your next thought,
See if you can imagine placing it in the creek and letting it flow away.
Can you watch it bobbing past and drifting out of sight?
Can you see it melt into the cool mountain water?
Over the next few breaths,
Simply watch the creek and place your thoughts in it as they arise.
Come back to your breath again and allow yourself to feel all the sensations of your living body.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Simply come back into the room,
Sensing a greater awareness of who you are.
