What to do when the GLP-1 drug works.
But you're still feeling a brokenness inside.
So the medication might be working,
The food noise might be gone,
You might be experiencing a lot of changes in your physical body,
Maybe not,
But you still have a voice inside of you that says you're wrong,
Or something is wrong,
Or this is too good to last,
Or all good things come to an end.
GOP1 medications are incredibly powerful,
But they are not powerful enough change what it is that we believe about ourselves.
And I want to teach you two things that you can do to start unwinding this if you still feel either unchanged or broken on the inside,
Even if you're getting transformation on the outside.
The first thing is to ask yourself,
What things have happened in my life that have caused me to come to the belief system that I have here today?
The best way to unravel all of this is write out what I call our struggle story.
And the best way you can do that is get a pen and paper and to write five big things that have happened to you in your life and what you decided about yourself in regards to those things.
Then after you write everything down,
And I want you to think about if you were reading that list as a friend who deeply cares about you.
If you had a friend who deeply,
Deeply cares about you or a family member,
Somebody who cares about you reading that list and they were to say,
Of course it makes sense that that really hard thing that happened to you might cause you to believe that thing about yourself.
But is it true?
And as you can imagine a friend or a loved one saying that with so much compassion inside of them towards you,
I want you to notice if you are able to do that for yourself.
And then notice what happens.
The things that happen to us and the things that we believe as a result of what happened to us is an epidemic in our culture,
In our world.
And because we are just trying to make sense of hard things that have happened to us,
We tend to start believing things that aren't actually true.
And we take them as truth and we put them into play as the law in our life.
For instance,
If you had a parent who didn't parent you,
Your parents got divorced or perhaps your parent was an alcoholic and they neglected you.
Neglect is the thing that happened,
But the belief that formed might be that you're not lovable or you did something to cause that.
That is actually not true.
And when we start writing these things out,
It can help us determine these errors in our data,
I call them.
And when we start doing this,
This is how we can start to see,
Even though we've had massive transformation physically,
We still might feel broken or like an imposter,
Or this is all too good to be true on the inside.
And going through this process of what happened to you and what do you believe,
And then looking at all of those things compassionately helps to loosen them up so we can become more free of them.
When we do it from a compassionate space.
