Welcome to Roots Branches,

A healing and growing meditation.

I'm Connor Logan,

Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine accompanied by composer Trevor Wayne Howard.

We're here now to teach you techniques to relax,

Feel creative,

And build a confident internal breath that you can use all day,

Every day.

Through this we'll understand more how we interact inside ourselves and with the energy around us,

From our roots to our leaves.

Now let's begin.

First ensure you are in a comfortable position.

We'll be looking to deeply relax,

So ensure that your position allows you the liberty to relax your body.

Now simply close your eyes.

We block out vision to allow us the opportunity to more easily focus on our own inner selves.

It won't be uncommon for your mind to wander,

This is perfectly natural.

When you find that occurring,

Just easily bring your breath back to the sound of my voice,

The sound of the music.

Your breath.

Take a moment here to breathe out slowly and with the intent to relax.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now focus your mind on your feet.

Permit them to feel how they feel as you begin to relax.

Then clear cool energy as you allow your feet to relax and your ankles,

Your legs,

Slowly breathing in and with each breath out,

Relaxing.

Allow this wave of relaxation to enter your knees.

Think of the inside of your knees,

The back of your knees,

The bones,

The kneecap.

Breathe in and allow your kneecaps to relax down.

Allow your upper legs to relax.

Allow your hips and your belly and your lower back to relax.

Continue to allow each breath you take to relax you.

Allow the sound you hear to relax you.

Allow each breath that passes to relax you.

Allow the relaxation to flow into your chest,

Letting the breathing that had become relaxed to this point to become even more relaxed.

Allow the wave of relaxation to enter your neck and flow through your neck into the hair at the back of your head to the top of your head,

Flowing through your scalp,

Allowing your shoulders to sink,

Your ears to fall,

Your forehead to relax,

And your jaw to soften.

Breathe in clear breath and exhale out through your arms,

Elbows,

And hands.

Breathe in cool clear breath and exhale out your legs and knees and feet.

Enjoy.

You A cold wind blows around my leaves Stifling inhales know they cope my lungs Will I ever remove its stain and will I ever be as I perceive?

For years now a slow fall Mast in praise I draw within Others views never congruent to my own At the trunk a shimmer that tells an underground story Count the Rings and learn its amplitude It invites one to pry to help unearth or to nourish and leave be From what we hope for and what passes is such a comedy For the roots hold my mold To forget their first move down dishonors the manifestation above Long after the changes of fire and weather a thickened circle is nature's straightforward account of cataclysm and I came back to the same spot just days later Happy cries from my daughter now tempered and tested show her ability to see silver Perhaps the light in my roots is fitting Reminds me of my place in the stars Reminds me of my place in the stars You You You You You You Think of yourself as the tree the roots hold your mold You feel deeply about the sum of your parts What presents itself as you work at your best feel areas of tension in your body Which ones seem to tie to an emotion Breathe into these areas Visualize each breath providing clean cool calming energy to each area In turn allowing the surrounding areas to breathe and relax Tested by your own internal weather and Time You have ways to Handle each situation calmly Allow the first place right now that comes to mind That feels these feelings to be that place and Put yourself as vividly as you can into this environment Use all of your senses through your mind's eye See everything there is to see What's close What's far away What's right in front of you and what's behind you Touch and feel temperatures and textures Look at objects in your environment look around them and inside them Notice any wind or aromas and appreciate these Put yourself as completely into this place as possible As vividly as you can You Continue to breathe deeply Allowing more and more energy to fill your body as you breathe in and breathe out Become aware of all parts of your body Your clothing and the space around you The time and place When you are here and now You still calmly bring in energy Add to this serenity That which exposed itself to you As you pictured yourself in a place of excellence Add to this serenity the feelings of calm,

Confidence,

Breath To take with you each and every day Now simply open your eyes Enjoy the rest of your day Be kind to those that you meet Enjoy the feelings that a calm and clear mind exude Enjoy the rest of your day Thank you for watching
