A warm welcome to you.
My name is Fleur Chambers and as always it's my pleasure to share this time with you.
This practice is an opportunity to connect with your ego and your higher self without judgment,
So that you can feel more at home in your body,
Mind and heart.
So beginning as always by getting comfortable and closing down your eyes if you like and allowing your breath to be your anchor.
The rhythmic rise and fall of your chest,
The steady expansion and contraction of your belly,
Holding your attention.
Just one breath and another,
Allowing you to drop into this moment and trusting that you deserve this time.
Trusting also that this practice will offer you just what you need,
Without any need to strive or control.
This is your moment to trust and let go.
So in your own time,
Directing your attention to the center of your chest and together we're going to imagine that there within your chest and your heart is a green triangle.
This triangle is facing upwards,
The top point aiming towards the sky and on the in-breath,
Allowing your awareness to move across the three sides of the triangle,
Tracing it in your mind's eye and on the out-breath,
Imagining that you're filling the triangle with beautiful green energy,
A shade of green that feels right for you.
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
Trust in your own ability to create this triangle within your heart and to activate it with your attention and your breath.
On the in-breath,
Awareness moving across the edges of the triangle and on the out-breath,
Filling the triangle with green energy.
In sacred geometry,
The triangle is a symbol of balance and harmony.
The three sides represent the body,
Mind and spirit.
So as you continue to move your awareness around the triangle,
As you continue to fill it with your breath and life force,
Trusting that you are also creating a sense of inner balance,
Letting the image fade now,
Noticing any experience of warmth or aliveness within your chest or your heart,
Offering whatever is here a gentle smile,
Chest open and receptive,
Body relaxed,
Breath steady.
And from this more relaxed and expanded state,
We're safe to explore our ego,
The different ways it makes us feel small,
Afraid and not enough.
We're also free to explore our higher self,
The version of us who feels open,
Loving,
Compassionate and brave.
Now I'd like you to imagine that you're sitting by a river,
Somewhere in nature.
This place could be real,
Somewhere you've been before,
Or it could be imagined.
Perhaps you are sitting on a lovely smooth rock or on a sandy riverbank.
Maybe the image isn't clear,
But somehow you can feel it.
You can hear the water as it trickles past you.
And as you sit here by the flowing river,
You're going to explore your ego and how it might have been presenting itself in your life lately,
How it might have found home in your body,
Mind and heart.
Our ego can often feel like a contraction,
A tightening,
A sense of holding on.
So let's begin by exploring our physical body and seeing if you can locate any heaviness,
Any pockets of tension,
And just acknowledging that these might be an expression of your ego,
This part of you that often tricks you into working too hard,
Taking on too much,
Pleasing everyone.
Perhaps there's a tightness across your shoulders,
A dull ache in your gut,
Tension within your jaw.
You don't need to understand this expression of your ego at an intellectual level.
Here in this moment,
It's enough to just breathe into these parts of you.
As you see yourself sitting by the river,
You take your shoes off and dip your feet into the cool water.
As the river runs over your feet,
Your body relaxes,
Almost as if the river is taking with it all your physical tension,
Carrying it away like a fallen leaf in the river.
Long,
Smooth inhale.
Long,
Smooth exhale.
Body and ego softening in this moment.
Sensing now into the quality of your mind as it's been over the last few days.
Has it felt busy,
Scattered or full?
How has your ego been present within your mind and your thoughts?
Has your inner critic been loud,
Telling you that you should have handled that situation better?
Has it been urging you to work harder,
To get more done in a day,
To be a better parent,
Child or friend?
Offering these thoughts your soothing breath,
Each breath creating space between you and your ego.
Imagining now that you can carefully scoop up your brain,
Holding it gently in your two hands and placing it in the cool river.
Holding your brain with such tenderness,
Allowing the clean river water to cleanse your brain.
All these thoughts being washed away.
It feels good.
Placing your brain back in your skull,
Feeling more soothed,
Spacious and clear.
Focusing now on your heart,
Sensing into the quality of your heart as it's been over the last few days.
Has there been a part of your heart that's felt heavy,
Burdened,
Small or tentative?
Taking some time now to notice how your ego has been present within your emotional world lately.
Have you been feeling anxious?
Has your ego been making you feel guilty,
Worried or ashamed?
Has it led to judgment or blame,
To feelings of separateness?
No need to judge.
Remaining open and curious and again scooping your precious heart and allowing it to bathe in the healing waters of the river.
As you hold your heart tenderly in the cleansing water,
All these emotions,
The judgments,
The blame,
The feelings of separateness created by your ego are being washed away.
Returning your heart to your body,
Sitting by the river's edge,
Feeling more relaxed,
Spacious and free.
It feels good to create some space between you and your ego,
Even if just for small moments at a time.
As you sit by the river,
You imagine yourself a few days into the future.
It's clear that this version of you is held by the energy of your higher self.
You watch with curiosity and delight how this version of you is naturally confident,
Creative,
Open and light.
You see this version of you stepping easily over the everyday hurdles.
There's still challenges,
Work deadlines,
Family responsibilities and social engagements,
But this version of you handles them with flexibility and grace.
You see your higher self setting clear boundaries with family and friends and resting when they are tired.
This version of you is eating well,
Sleeping deeply.
This version of you moves through their day in flow,
Feeling grateful for their relationships and compassionate towards themselves and others.
They find joy and delight in the everyday.
This future you turns and looks at the present you sitting by the river's edge,
And they smile,
A smile that is filled with love and understanding.
And this future version of you holds out their hand to your present self,
And you take your own hand.
And it feels deeply comforting to take your own hand.
And together you sit by the river's edge,
Feeling peaceful and at home.
And you know that whenever you are feeling pulled in by your ego,
Whenever life feels contracted,
You can come back to this river's edge and trust that your higher self will be here,
Waiting to hold your hand to lead you back to a feeling of peace and relaxation.
Awareness returning to your body breathing,
And with your eyes closed,
Rubbing your hands together,
Really feeling the friction,
The sound.
Keep rubbing,
Feeling the energy you are creating,
This energy that holds the frequency of your higher self,
And placing these hands over your closed eyes,
Noticing sensation,
Returning your hands to your lap and feeling into how cool and spacious your brain feels after it is connected with your higher self energy.
Rubbing your hands together once more,
Again really feeling into the energy you are creating,
And placing these hands over your heart,
Noticing sensation,
And as you return your hands to your lap,
Really feeling into this sense of expansion you have just created in your heart,
Offering your fingers and toes some gentle movement as your awareness returns to the space you are in.
Thanks for sitting with me by the river.
May you take any experience of confidence,
Peace or ease with you today.
