Take four minutes to connect with the emotion of joy. Begin with breath awareness and mindful cues to bring to mind someone who embodies joy for you. Then, move into four 4:6 breaths followed by one last intentional breath centered around joy. The intention for this flow is for you to move into the rest of the day connected with a feeling of joy and hope.

Welcome.

This flow is all about coming into and feeling joy.

Think of it as a joy blast.

Let's take a breath together.

Inhale through the nose.

Open mouth exhale.

Say hello to your breath.

Where is it in your body?

How long are your inhales?

How long are your exhales?

And if it feels safe and comfortable to you,

I invite you to soften your eyes.

If you're seated on a bench or chair,

Ground both soles of the feet into the floor ground beneath you.

I invite you to think of someone who brings you joy as you breathe.

Noticing the air coming into your nostrils on your inhale.

Does this person,

Animal,

Being,

What do they look like?

Why do they bring you joy?

What do they sound like?

And with each inhale,

Inhaling that emotion,

That emotion,

That strong feeling of play,

Revelry into the body.

And each exhale allowing it to soften into your tissues,

Your fascia.

And we're going to flow into a four six breath.

Again,

I will remind you as we breathe to cultivate the memory of that person,

Animal,

Being,

Who brings you joy.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale for six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale,

Acknowledge the sense of playfulness this person brings to your life.

Exhale,

Soften into the comfort of their safety,

Their knowing.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Now return to your usual breathing pattern.

Turn the corners of your mouth up.

Take one last big inhale in.

Feel that belly with that sense of light,

Joyful energy.

And exhale,

Let that encircle you for the rest of your day.

Open your eyes.

You're right where you are meant to be.
