Now we're going to move into our intention for today,
Which is to slow down.
And I wonder for how many of you just hearing the word slow down,
Does that either create anxiety for you?
If you spend your life rushing from place to place,
You are almost never experiencing present moment consciousness.
It's very difficult to be here now and be thinking about the future,
Be thinking about what's next.
And of course,
Why we want to be in the now is because you will miss this moment,
This unique,
Beautiful,
One of a kind,
Special moment.
And once it's gone,
It's gone.
So I want you to really think about your relationship to time.
If you live in a city,
Have you lived there so long that you don't even realize that you are rushing or that you are impatient?
So today you're going to give yourself the gift of slowing down,
Giving yourself plenty of time to get wherever it is you need to go.
So let's move into the meditation.
Light your candle,
Get your oil,
Shut the door.
And let's just start by breathing deeply in through your nose and gently closing your eyes,
Make any last minute adjustments that you might need to to get comfortable.
And as you're breathing in,
I want you to visualize that you're breathing in the peaceful positive energy that's all around you.
And as you're breathing out,
You're exhaling any aches or pains,
Any anxiety,
Any constriction in your mind or in your body.
Just visualize and feel it leaving your body through your breath.
Continue breathing deeply and relaxing.
As you consciously slow your breathing down,
You can consciously slow your heartbeat.
So we're expanding the breath by breathing in very deeply to a count of four.
And then I want you to exhale for twice the amount of time that you inhale.
Breathing in for four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And exhaling two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight.
Breathing in and exhale.
And now return to breathing normally,
Relaxing your body one body part at a time,
Starting with your head.
Feel it completely relaxed,
Moving into your neck,
Releasing,
Shoulders relaxing,
Arms releasing,
Entire back relaxing,
Front of your body releasing,
Hips relaxing,
Legs from your thighs all the way down to your feet,
Completely and totally relaxed.
And as you continue slowing down your breath,
Your body falls into a deep state of total rest and relaxation.
You're in a mental state of total tranquility.
Today,
You have exactly the right amount of time.
In fact,
You have more than enough time to get everything done with ease and grace.
So I want you to visualize yourself going through this day,
Floating through this day where everything falls into place with ease and grace.
You are expansive,
Not stressed,
Not running late because you are doing everything much more slowly.
And rather than thinking about it as more slowly,
Maybe think of it as luxurious because for most of us,
Time is one of the biggest luxuries that we don't have,
But it's up to you to create it in your mind because it is just a construct in your mind.
So I want you to continue in this expansive state for the next little bit of time.
And when you hear the chime,
There'll be time to come back.
Take a look.
Please come back now.
Bring your consciousness back to your body,
Back to the room that you're in.
Let your body start to wake up a little bit.
So shake your hands and rock your feet.
Give yourself a nice big full body stretch.
Gently open your eyes and you're going to bring this sense of expansion and luxury around time into this day with you today.
No matter what happens,
You'll remember that you always have more than enough time to get everything done with ease and grace.
