Soham or Sohum is a Hindu mantra, meaning "I am She/He/That" in Sanskrit. In Vedic philosophy, it means identifying oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. So Hum mantra symbolizes the fact that we are all connected to the universal energy that is constantly supporting and nourishing us in. As Soham meditation helps us to focus, we can get a clearer image of our surroundings, and with our increasing levels of concentration, it helps us to remember more, and with greater clarity.

Namaste,

Welcome to our mantra mindfulness meditation.

My name is Teresa and I will guide you through the session.

Get as comfortable as possible.

You are going to be sitting still for a while.

Now gently close your eyes and relax.

Just let go.

Let your body be heavy.

Sink down into the chair.

Feel your feet touching the floor.

Place your attention in the tips of your toes.

Just feel the tips of your toes.

As you feel the tips of your toes you may notice a warm,

Tiley sensation.

Allow this sensation to spread.

Through your toes.

Into your feet.

The soles of your feet.

Eels.

Ankles.

Into your calf muscles.

And in your shins.

Into your knees.

Your thigh muscles.

Into your hips.

Just let your legs relax.

Let go of all the tension that's there.

And now be aware of your hands.

Let your hands become soft.

And heavy.

Place your awareness in the tips of your fingers.

Just feel the tips of your fingers.

As you feel the tips of your fingers you may notice a warm,

Tiley sensation.

Allow this sensation to spread.

Through your fingers.

Pounds your hands.

Palms of your hands.

Wrist.

Forearms.

Elbows.

Upper arms.

Into your shoulders.

Just let your shoulders drop.

Let go of all the tension that's there.

And now be aware of your head.

Allow your face to relax.

Let your eyes become soft.

Be aware of the space in front of your closed eyes.

You are sitting.

Listening.

Breathing.

Be aware of your breath as it comes in and as it goes out.

As you watch your breathing begin to introduce the mantra so hum.

As you breathe in say to yourself so.

As you breathe out say to yourself hum.

Allow this word to attach themself to the natural rhythm of your breathing.

As you breathe in say to yourself hum.

Allow this word to attach themself to the natural rhythm of your breathing.

As you breathe in say to yourself hum.

Allow this word to attach themself to the natural rhythm of your breathing.

As your mind begins to wander just be aware of the thoughts.

Then gently let them go.

Returning your attention to your breathing.

So hum.

So hum.

As you breathe in say to yourself hum.

Became aware of your body.

Sitting in a chair.

Returning to normal consciousness.

In your own time.

And when it feels ok,

Slowly open your eyes.

Thank you so much.
