Good evening.

I'm Tanya Murphy.

And tonight I will be reading a sleep story about the birth of Jesus Christ.

During this holiday season,

This Christmas season,

I thought it would be fitting to share the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Christmas season is a time that many Christians call the Advent season.

A time that we read scripture.

A time that we remember the great expectation that Christ is coming.

And are so grateful for His arrival.

And so appreciative of His love towards us.

So tonight,

As you prepare for rest,

I ask that you get comfortable.

Lie down.

And get cozy in bed.

Allow your body to be positioned in a way that's comfortable for you.

Allowing your head to rest heavy on your pillow.

And now that you're comfortable,

Let's just take in a deep breath.

And then have a long,

Slow exhale.

Sinking even more comfortably into your bed.

And it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

And all went to be taxed.

Everyone,

Unto his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee.

Out of the city of Nazareth.

Into Judea.

Unto the city of David,

Which is called Bethlehem,

To be taxed with Mary,

His wife.

And she was great with child.

And so it was that while they were there,

The days were accomplished and she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.

Because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,

Keeping watch over their flock by night.

And lo,

The angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone around them.

And they were so afraid.

And the angel said to them,

Fear not.

For behold,

I bring you good tidings of great joy,

Which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born on this day in the city of David a savior,

Which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you.

You will find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,

Lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying,

Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace,

Goodwill toward men.

And it came to pass as the angels were gone away from them into heaven.

The shepherd said to one another,

Let us now go unto Bethlehem and see this thing which has come to pass,

Which the Lord has made known unto us.

And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it,

They made known abroad the saying which was told to them concerning the child.

And all they that heard it wondered at the things that was told to them by the shepherds.

But Mary,

She kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen as it was told unto them.

As you rest tonight,

Settle your mind and your heart in a place of great expectation.

No good thing will the Lord withhold from you.

Rest and settle your mind in great expectation.

Allowing yourself to sleep with ease.

To sleep with hope.

To sleep wrapped in love.

Sleep in heavenly peace.

Sleep in heavenly peace.
