Good evening and welcome to tonight's meditation embracing peace for rest and sweet sleep.

Wherever you go,

No matter what's happening,

No matter the situation or the circumstances,

Peace is always yours to take.

Peace is always available,

Always flowing,

Always moving,

Always encouraging,

Always there.

As you prepare for rest and sleep tonight,

I want you to lie down and get in a comfortable position.

Whether that be lying on your back or if you choose to,

You can lie on your side.

Either way,

It's fine.

Just make yourself comfortable.

Allow your body to sink into the bed.

Close your eyes and inhale deeply and exhale slowly.

As you exhale,

Imagine the breath carrying away the concerns of the day.

Again,

Inhale deeply and exhale slowly,

Allowing your body to release the tension of the day.

Allow your face to soften and relax.

Allow your shoulders to gently fall away from your ears.

Allow the back of your neck to extend and then soften and rest deeply in your pillow.

Now,

Once again,

Inhale deeply and exhale slowly.

Allow this exhale to carry away the stress and tension from your head to your toes.

Allow your feet to gently fall apart,

Your heels comfortably resting on the bed,

Your legs limber and loose,

Fully relying on the bed alone for support.

Allow your hips to soften and your lower back to relax.

Allow your upper back and shoulders to rest deeply in the bed and allow your head to be heavy and comfortable on your pillow.

Now that you're comfortable,

Begin to rest your mind in the fact that you are deeply loved.

Deeply cared for and deeply adored by the Lord.

That in spite of yourself,

You can't do anything that will remove the Lord's love from you.

With his love comes peace,

Deep abiding,

Sweet peace.

This peace transcends the cares of the day or the thoughts that attempt to interrupt the night.

In peace,

You lie down and sleep for the Lord alone makes you dwell in safety.

The Lord's safety dwells with you.

It belongs to you.

Receive it as the gift it is.

Now,

As you lay down,

Fully aware that peace is yours,

Take your peace as it's flowing,

Moving,

Encouraging.

Flowing,

Moving,

Encouraging.

Flowing,

Moving,

Encouraging.

Take your peace.

It's always there.

Resting in the next breath,

Patiently waiting to be embraced,

To be held,

To be acknowledged.

Peace has been left with you.

Peace has been given to you.

Receive the gift of peace that belongs to you.

Inhale your peace.

Ingest your peace.

Digest your peace.

Be filled with peace as it's moving,

Flowing,

And encouraging.

Moving,

Flowing,

And encouraging.

It's moving,

Flowing,

And encouraging.

Take your peace.

So tonight,

We pray,

As I rest,

Lord,

I receive your peace as it's moving,

Flowing,

And encouraging me.

Moving in my heart,

My mind,

And my soul.

Flowing all around me as I feel your love,

Your peace,

And your grace,

Your safety,

Your comfort,

And your compassion.

Encouraging me to remember that I have hope and confidence that is built in you.

Thank you for being with me tonight as I rest in your peace,

Knowing that I will sleep well because you alone make me dwell in your peace.

Dwell in safety.

Have a wonderful night as you rest and have sweet sleep.
