I love finding ways to be more mindful and using your shower routine is an easy peasy way to start. Listen to the meditation and replicate it in your own shower OR if you have one of those waterproof shower speakers - even better! It really is just about noticing how you feel, what the water sounds like, what your shampoo smells like and ultimately tending to yourself instead of thinking about life outside the safe sanctuary of your shower.

Transcript

Let's imagine that you've just turned the shower on and before you step in you pause.

Take a deep breath in and gently exhale.

You step into the shower and notice the change in temperature.

You feel the water pitter patter down your back.

Each droplet gently massaging your back muscles.

You listen to the water falling down on your skin.

You place your head under the shower head and for a second the whole world goes quiet.

You feel the stagnant energy wash away down the drain.

You reach for your shower gel and begin to pour,

Noticing the pool that it makes in the palm of your hand.

You begin to tend to every inch of yourself,

Gently coating every body part,

Taking the time to really look after yourself.

You notice the droplets forming on the shower pane,

Making the journey down to the base.

You reach for the shampoo and begin to lather up your scalp,

Giving yourself a truly relaxing head massage.

No need to rush or speed through this routine as time is completely yours.

The smell from the shampoo ignites your senses and you begin to feel truly clean.

The water continues to cascade over you,

Taking any tension,

Stress or anxiety with it,

Washing away any frustration or fear that you may have for the day.

It falls again and again and again over you,

Completely cleaning away any stagnant energy.

You stand for a few moments,

Just listening to the sound of the water completely cleansing you.

You feel completely refreshed.

You turn to the switch and notice the blissful silence when the water stops.

You step out into a gorgeous white fluffy towel and begin to gently pat yourself dry,

Noticing how relaxed and refreshed you feel.

You take one last deep breath to close off your new daily ritual.

Feeling calm,

Revitalized and ready to take this feeling out with you into your day.

The Teachers voice was very relaxing soothing and peaceful with gentle qualities. I really liked how she used a “shower” as her teaching classroom. I have problems with bathrooms Taking a Shower is a real problem for me so this little Meditation session was very nice. 🦋
