Good morning.
Welcome to your morning inspiration.
I'm Susan Guttridge and I'm so pleased to be starting this day with you.
As you slowly awaken,
Give your body a nice stretch,
Perhaps reaching through your arms,
Lengthening your neck,
Softening your back.
And as you stretch,
Take a deep breath in,
Exhaling out when it feels right for you,
Releasing any lingering whispers of sleepiness or of tension from the night.
Notice how you feel,
Being curious,
Not judging anything that you may notice for you are here,
Awake,
And that's enough for now.
For our morning inspiration today,
We're going to practice honoring your energy because there is a finite well of energy within us and we can only give so much before we begin to feel the fray of exhaustion.
Showing up with genuine kindness for others doesn't mean giving endlessly until we are depleted,
Rather it begins with deeply respecting and tending to our own precious reserves of energy,
Recognizing what nourishes our spirit and what can subtly drain it.
From that place of awareness,
We can then make choices that are rooted in self-respect.
Honoring our energy isn't selfish,
It's actually an act of deep wisdom,
A path to sustainable well-being,
And ultimately,
A foundational kindness for both yourself and all the people who matter to you.
Alright,
Let yourself settle just a little more deeper into this moment.
Notice your breath one more time,
Steady and deep,
Not trying to change it,
Just noticing.
And now,
Shift your attention inwards.
Notice how you're arriving to this day.
Are you full of energy?
A little depleted?
Somewhere in between?
Just noticing,
Observing,
Not judging.
Your energy,
After all,
Is precious.
It deserves to be met with care.
Now imagine your energy as a soft,
Radiant light within you.
Perhaps you sense it glowing warmly in your chest,
Or in your belly,
Or even as a spark behind your eyes.
As you hold this image,
Just notice,
Does this light feel bright and shiny and full today?
Or perhaps a little flickering,
A little dim?
Can you ask yourself,
How do I want to show up today?
What might I need to say no to today?
What conversations,
Tasks,
Or expectations feel heavy or misaligned?
Ask,
What do I want to say yes to?
What feels nourishing,
Steadying?
Allowing your breath,
Deep and slow,
To affirm your yes.
As you move through your day,
May you remember to check in with this inner light of yours.
If you notice it dimming,
Pause,
Take a breath,
Recalibrate.
Let this be the day you choose to show up with love,
Both for others and for your precious whole self.
Remember the saying,
We have two hands,
One for reaching out to help others,
And one for gently holding and nourishing ourselves.
You are worthy of choosing what sustains you.
You are worthy of rest.
You are worthy of protecting that which keeps you feeling whole and healthy.
Thank you for being here today.
