My name is Susan.
And I will be your guide today.
Tonight's Irish Forest Christian Sleep Meditation.
Will open your consciousness to nature imagery.
In a lush green Irish forest.
Emanating with nurturing and rejuvenating energy.
This meditation includes passages from the Bible to help you feel comforted.
And close to God.
As you descend into sleep.
Prepare for your night of peaceful sleep.
By ensuring that your room is cool and dark.
Once you're prepared for bed,
Slide underneath your sheets,
Blankets,
And comforters.
You are winding down now.
Moving away from doing and acting.
To just being.
You don't need to do anything now except find comfort.
And settle into rest.
Allow your thoughts to slow and soften.
Adjust your pillow so that your head feels supported.
And relaxed.
And your neck and whole spine are comfortably aligned.
Cocoon yourself with your sheets,
Blankets,
And comforters,
Nestling into cozy comfort.
Make any last-minute adjustments you need to make to find complete comfort.
Feel free to use an eye pillow to block out any distracting light.
Or wear earplugs if you find surrounding noises to be disturbing.
Begin to settle into stillness.
Feel your head sinking softly into your pillow.
Sense the support of the mattress underneath you.
The sensation of the cupboards all around you.
Now allow yourself to become aware of God's presence.
Your father mother is always with you.
And is here with you now.
Random thoughts and worries tend to interfere with our ability to connect with the Almighty.
But you can let all those go now and just know he is here.
Experience that all-embracing support and love from God,
Who is ever-present,
Whether you're asleep or awake.
In your own home or any other place in the world.
God and the beautiful earth he created for us is always here for you.
A constant source of renewal and support.
You have been made in her image and likeness.
Take a moment to say a prayer.
Maybe your prayer will be that you have a night of restful,
Restorative sleep.
It is your father mother's intention that you be calm.
Comfortable.
And well.
Remember Jesus' words that can be found in the books of Mark and Matthew.
They were such an important part of his teachings.
What things soever ye desire when ye pray,
Believe that ye receive them.
And ye shall have them.
Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him.
Draw in a deep breath through your nose and then exhale as a sigh through your mouth.
Releasing all tension from your mind.
All distracting thoughts,
So you can feel God's loving support.
And prepare your mind and body to fall asleep.
Draw in another deep breath.
And then sigh it out.
Releasing all tension from your body from head to toe to fingertips.
Take in another deep breath,
And then as you slowly exhale through your nose,
Feel your whole body softening.
Relaxing.
And melting down into your mattress.
You are safe.
Cared for.
Support it.
Psalms 4.
8 says,
In peace I will lie down and sleep.
For you alone,
Lord,
Make me dwell.
And safety.
You are watched over.
Comforted.
In Matthew 11,
28-30.
Jesus spoke of this comfort that is constantly available to you through God.
Come to me.
All you who are weary and burdened.
And I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you,
And learn from me,
For I am gentle and humble in heart.
And you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy.
And my burden is light.
Bring awareness to your whole body.
Feel your head and neck.
Your arms and hands.
Your torso.
Your pelvis.
Your legs and feet.
And feel as if God is holding your whole body.
In a comforting embrace.
Visualize your whole body.
Surrounded by warm,
White light.
Divine Love Feel softness in your muscles and tissues.
As you experience that support.
You are alone.
You are protected.
Love.
Cared for.
God's unique and special creation.
Continue to feel God's loving support.
As you follow the guidance of my voice as I walk you through different parts of your body.
Draw your awareness to each part.
Directing prana or energy there.
Without actually moving that part of the body.
I invite you to visualize that part of the body or imagine a point of light landing there.

Feel the whole body together on the bed.
Feel your whole physical body lying on the bed.
Completely still and relaxed.
Softening and sinking.
Visualize your whole body.
Relax.
On the bed.
Now bring awareness to your breath.
Awaken your ears and listen to the soft sound of your breath.
The SO sound on the inhale.
The HUM sound on the exhale.
So.
.
.
Power.
So.
.
.
How?
Simply hearing your breath can be so soothing,
Calming,
And relaxing.
Begin to notice the rise and fall of each breath.
As you draw in air through your nostrils,
Filling your lungs with nourishing life energy,
And then release the old energy on the exhale.
Allow your breath to flow fluidly,
Like rolling waves on the sea.
Notice God's steady presence with you as you breathe.
He gave you life.
Gave you breath.
Watches over you as you follow your path through life.
Now begin to count each breath.
Countdown from 18 to 1.
Inhale drying air in,
Body expanding.
Eighteen.
Exhale releasing old energy.
18.
Inhale,
17.
Exhale.
17.
Continue counting down on your own.
If you lose track of your counting,
You may start over if you're still awake.
Or give yourself permission to let go of the count.
As you drift into peaceful sleep.
Now bring your attention to your eyebrow center point.
Begin to awaken your imagination as you draw awareness to your Chittakasha,
Your space of consciousness,
Or mind screen.
Hear the sound of my voice.
And allow images of a magical Irish forest to appear in front of your closed eyes.
Allow all five senses to awaken.
So you can immerse fully in your experiences.
Prepare to be nurtured and cared for by trees,
Ferns,
Rivers,
And waterfalls.
Which are all expressions of God's goodness.
Prepare to feel God's presence.
Through the serenity and beauty of this natural world experience.
Begin by transporting yourself to a soft,
Cozy bed God has prepared for you.
In a peaceful forest in Glendalough,
Ireland.
Nestled in the Wicklow Mountains.
The land,
Underwater millions of years ago until it was uplifted by moving plates,
Was eventually carved by glaciers,
Creating valleys and lakes.
You're surrounded by mountains,
Lakes,
Rivers,
Waterfalls,
Lush green forests,
And sacred monastic sites.
Your father-mother is present as you arrive in this special place.
Your soft bed sits on a flat bed of ancient granite covered with soft moss.
Your cupboards are warm and cozy around you.
And the air feels cool and fresh on your face.
You are resting just steps away from a gently sloping waterfall.
Under a canopy of trees.
On a soft mattress with quilts,
Sheets,
And a soft pillow under your head.
The Omnipresent Divine Comforter is ever near and will watch over you while you rest.
You sense God's loving presence through the natural world all around you.
As you hear the crystalline sound of water tumbling over rocks.
The shrill call of birds perched in trees.
The whisper of wind through the leaves of the trees.
The aroma of damp earth drifts into your nostril.
You breathe the land into your nostrils.
Sense its support underneath you.
Hear how it speaks to you through the water,
The wind,
The creatures of the forest.
The forest's voice mingles with God's voice,
The same.
I am here to support you while you rest.
As you drift slowly into a deep state of meditation.
Feel a sense of gratitude for the beauty and comfort of the forest.
For God's ever presence in your life.
Now allow yourself to descend.
Through the West Pole.
Peaceful sleep.
It is safe for you to rest now.
Allow your mind to quiet.
Until there are no thoughts there.
Nothing at all.
Psalm 16.
1 says,
Preserve me,
O God,
For in thee do I put my trust.
Consciously aware of your existence.
Of God's presence.
As you sink into sleep.
Deeper.
Forest.
Trees.
Flowers.
Waterfalls.
Reverie.

Birds.
Rocks!

Comforted.
Quiet.
Cared for.
Safe.
Protected.
Calm.
Relaxed.

Replenishing.
Sleepy.
Sleeping.
You are asleep.
God is present.
Always your father mother is present.
The whole night.
While you sleep.
