Welcome to this yoga nidra practice.
My name is Susan and I will be your guide today.
During this experience,
Your physical body will relax completely while your mind stays alert and aware.
You will have an opportunity to connect with your authentic existence and to feel God's love embracing and healing you.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
And he shall direct thy paths.
Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely,
And thy foot shall not stumble.
Proverbs 3,
5,
6,
And 23 Start by finding a quiet place where you can relax and rest.
Please lie down on your back on a couch or bed in the posture of Shavasana.
You may want to place a thin cushion underneath your head.
Align your head and neck with the rest of your spine and take a few moments to adjust your position so that you are very comfortable.
Ensure that your back is steady and stable.
You may want to cover yourself with a blanket to stay warm and facilitate a sense of safety.
Gently soften and close your eyes.
Begin to settle into the posture,
Allowing every part of your body to just let go.
The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.
Your body will relax more and more,
With every tissue and cell softening and sinking,
While your mind will remain alert and present.
Become aware of sounds in your environment.
Notice each sound without finding any of them to be disturbing.
Now tune into my voice and continue to be aware of it throughout this practice as you remain awake and aware.
Become aware of your physical form,
Resting safe and secure on the earth.
Feel the weight of your body.
Sense the meeting points of your body with the ground beneath you.
Feel awareness of your body.
Draw this awareness up through your body from toe to head,
Imagining that white divine love is embracing you.
You sense God's presence,
How much your father mother loves you and is with you no matter where you are.
Now,
Draw awareness to your face.
Relax your forehead.
Feel the muscles around your eyebrows softening.
Relax your eyes and eyelids and all the tiny muscles around your eyes.
Let your lips fall slightly open.
The tongue move away from the roof of the mouth and relax your jaw.
You are awake and conscious that your whole physical body is falling asleep.
It is in this state where we move our awareness beyond the realm of our physical bodies that we can awaken to our highest nature,
To our true spiritual existence that God created.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale out in a long sigh through your mouth.
Do that one more time.
Now,
Take another deep breath and as you exhale,
Feel your body sinking deeper into the posture.
Now allow your breath to soften and your mind to drift away from worries and outside distractions to follow each breath from beginning to middle to end.
Allow each breath to flow like a rolling wave.
Now say to yourself,
God loves me.
I am one of my father mother's creations and am beautiful,
Perfect and express all his divine qualities.
My true being is spiritual.
Even though I'm having a material body experience,
What God created is eternal.
It is not a physical form.
The I God created is limitless,
Free,
Uninhibited by time,
Space,
Form,
Or any state of illness or disability.
When I align my thoughts with what God knows about me,
I can experience this perfection he created right now in this physical body experience.
Jesus once said,
The kingdom of heaven is within you.
My connection to God and my understanding that Jesus taught his followers to recognize that God was the only power,
Not material laws,
Sin,
Disease,
Or death allows me to experience elevated existence.
I will now guide you through Anamaya Kosha,
The physical body experience.
This body focused practice will allow your body to relax so completely that by the end of it,
You will be rising higher and higher until you experience your spiritual existence that always has been and always will exist.
Focus on your eyebrow center point,
Your Ajna or third eye chakra,
And become aware of your Chittikasha or inner space of pure awareness that resides behind your closed eyelids.
I will guide you to different parts of your physical body.
Transfer your awareness to each area that I mentioned,
Following along at the same speed of my voice.
Think of the part of the body or see it in your mind's eye,
Whichever you find easier,
But please avoid moving the part of your body being mentioned.
Anywhere that you're focused in the body,
Energy begins to flow.
Stay aware of the pranic flow through your physical body as you map out the consciousness in a circuit.
This experience will release tension,
Balance your subtle energies,
And bring about a sense of mental harmony.
Draw your awareness to the point between the eyebrows,

We now move on to pranamaya kosha,
The breath awareness layer of our consciousness.
Draw your awareness to your slow breath.
As you remain awake and aware,
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
Rib cage,
And abdomen with each breath and feel the nourishing energy of the breath flowing through you.
Visualize the front of your body and the space between your navel and throat.
Begin to visualize the breath rising from your navel to your throat with each inhale and slowly descending with each exhale.
Now listen to the soft sound of your breath and how it is the mantra soul hum.
You can hear the soul sound when you inhale and the hum sound when you release the breath.
Hear and feel your soul hum breath and feel it moving through you easily without effort.
Now let go of your concentration on the mantra and continue to visualize the breath rising from the navel to the throat.
Begin to count your breath descending from 10 to 1.
Inhale breath rising 10.
Exhale breath descending 10.
Inhale breath rising 9.
Exhale breath descending 9.
Continue on with your breathing,
Maintaining awareness.
If you lose track of your counting,
Begin again at 10.
If you finish counting to 1 before I give further instructions,
Simply go back to 10 again and begin counting down a second time.
Now cease the practice of counting and begin to visualize your whole body in space.
Begin to feel a sense that your form is filling space but is not really solid.
Your body in reality is mostly rapidly moving particles.
Your body is more space than solid.
Shifts are happening all the time.
Feel spacious in your whole body from head to toe to fingertips.
Feel as if you can shift with one thought any negative issue in your body.
Matter responds to thought to intention.
It's been proven by scientists.
One thought can change your experience.
God created each one of us complete and perfect.
We are ideas not matter at all.
God wants us to know this.
Jesus spent his life teaching people to recognize their divine origin.
The only body that really exists for you or any one of us is a perfect body.
According to God's laws,
You are perpetually healthy,
Perpetually balanced,
Perpetually whole.
Use your consciousness to reject any tightness,
Any discomfort,
Any sense of dis ease.
Become aware of your head and neck in space.
Become aware of your torso in space.
Now notice the shape of your arms and hands in space.
Your pelvis and hips in space.
Your legs and feet in space.
Your whole body in space.
We enter into Manamaya Kosha,
Awakening opposite sensations in the body.
By experiencing material body sensations and learning to stay calm when we are experiencing them,
It enables us to live our life with more equanimity and to preserve our connection to God and our authentic existence in any circumstances.
Let us begin by awakening the sensation of heat in the body.
You are outside on a scorching hot sunny day,
Standing under direct sunlight.
Feel the sweat running down your body,
The intense heat on your skin.
Your clothes are so hot from the blazing sun,
They seem to scorch your skin.
Allow the sensation of heat to fade away.
Experience the sensation of intense cold.
Imagine you are standing in a bank of snow with bare feet,
Wearing only shorts and a t-shirt.
Visualize goose pimples rising on your skin,
Your whole body shivering from the cold.
Now allow the sensation of cold to fade away.
Awaken the sensation of being wet.
You are walking outside in a jungle during a torrential rain.
Water is dripping from your hair.
Your drenched clothes are sticking to your skin.
You can hear the rain pattering on the leaves all around you and the trees.
Now allow this wet sensation to dissipate.
Experience the sensation of being dry.
You are standing outside in the Atacama desert in Chile,
The most arid desert in the world.
Your skin feels parched and tingles from lack of moisture.
Your throat feels like sandpaper craving even a single drop of water.
Now allow the sensation of intense dryness to leave you.
As we move into the layer of Vijnanamaya Kosha,
Concentrate on the Chittikasha or mind screen and become aware of any colors,
Patterns,
Or light you may see on this screen in front of your closed eyelids.
Whatever you see manifested by your mind.
Now intensify your imagination and transport yourself to a healing place.
It can be a place that is very sacred to you,
A place you've previously visited,
Or a place you've always wanted to go.
Create an image of this place in your mind's eye first,
And then allow yourself to walk into the experience,
Engaging all your senses so you can feel as though you are there.
Smell the sense,
Taste the air,
Hear the sounds,
Maybe of nature.
As you immerse yourself in this place,
You can choose whether you want to sit or lie down.
Do whatever calls to you.
Allow yourself to become completely comfortable in this place.
Notice your mind drifting into a state of calm as your thoughts slow down and you are truly aware of the present moment.
Each breath,
Each soothing sound that you hear.
Notice all the tension in your body melting away.
You feel so relaxed,
Soft muscles,
Slow breath,
Soothing comfort in your body,
A tranquil mind.
Now begin to sense a loving divine presence with you in this space.
Maybe you see the faces of angels.
Maybe you see the gentle loving face of Jesus.
Maybe you simply feel enveloped by God's loving light.
Feel an experience being enveloped in the presence of the divine,
Loved,
Cared for,
Protected,
Restored,
Healed,
Guided.
And now say to yourself,
God's angels are all around me.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am cared for.
I am protected.
God's loving arms are all around me.
I'm embraced in protective love.
Now take a moment to speak to God.
Ask him for healing of whatever has been interfering with your normal state of harmony.
It could be an illness,
Chronic pain,
A disability,
A relationship conflict,
Or an uncomfortable state of mind.
Ask your father,
Mother,
While knowing all the while that she never created anything in you except perfection.
As the Bible says in the book of Habakkuk,
God is of purer eyes than to behold evil.
He never created anything out of order in your existence.
Thus,
Through your relationship with him,
You don't have to experience evil of any sort.
Each time illness or pain tries to present itself in your thought,
You can ask God to help you reject it.
Then you can experience the harmonious perfection that she had in mind for you.
Truth casts out evils with the actual spiritual law,
The law which gives sight to the blind,
Hearing to the deaf,
Voice to the dumb,
Feet to the lame,
Says Mary Baker Eddy in her book,
Science and Health on page 183.
Now take a moment to say your prayer.
Take a moment to see yourself as God sees you already perfect.
Knowing that who and what you are is a perfect idea of God brings about transformation and healing.
Say your prayer to God.
And now take a moment to thank God for listening to your prayer.
Now know and trust that it is done that you are completely well.
Feel a sense of peace in this knowing and allow yourself to drift into a deep state of meditation.
Now,
Slowly bring yourself back to the room where you are lying.
Become aware of your breath.
Feel the easy rise and fall of your belly,
Ribcage and chest.
Continue to feel the support and love of God so that you can carry your father mother's presence with you all day.
Be aware of your body.
Notice its outline and form.
Feel the support of the surface underneath you and feel the touch of the blanket on your skin,
The air on your skin.
Now bring some slow movements into your fingers and toes and begin to stretch.
And when you feel ready,
Roll over onto your right side for a couple of slow deep breaths.
Relax with your eyes closed.
And from there slowly come up to seated.
Thank you for joining me for this yoga nidra practice.
Have a beautiful day.
