Please Note: These are unedited recordings from live sessions held each weekday morning online. Please keep in mind the context when listening. During this session, there is a 3 to 4 minute teaching followed by a spacious guided meditation. The meditations are spacious intentionally so that you can feel into your own experience rather than me talking through the whole 20 minutes.

Good morning,

Good afternoon,

Good evening,

I've got flour on my slippers,

I just made some bread,

Full of it,

It gets everywhere.

So if you imagine there's a house,

And this house is called the house of peacefulness or the house of okayness,

The house of ease,

And it's your house,

You just don't quite realise it yet,

It's our house,

Each of us has this house,

And the good thing about this house is that we can take it with us wherever we go,

And the house is actually the present moment,

It's where we naturally live,

It's our natural habitat,

It's our natural resting place,

Our dwelling place,

Home,

That's where it is,

When you go to work,

You never leave the present moment,

So you never leave this house,

We just don't recognise it,

We keep leaving it,

And how do we leave it?

We all know,

We only leave it mentally,

We only leave it in the imagination,

But it's enough to make our days into,

Well to say difficult days,

All the dramas,

All the personal dramas,

So all we're doing here is becoming familiar once again,

The house of okayness,

With your own home,

You were born into it,

You're born as it,

It's your nature,

An infant never leaves it,

I just got an email from somebody else,

Talking about their two year old granddaughter,

How she's seeing now,

She's developing language and the tantrums are coming,

That separation is happening,

She's leaving the house of ease and okayness,

Leaving the paradise,

It's another way of looking at the thing,

The Bible's saying we leave the paradise,

Paradise lost,

But it's not,

It's only lost because we go into the imagination,

We go into language,

Then we take language to be the real,

So we have to use language of course,

We have to use the mental realm,

Mind,

But for practical purposes,

Creative purposes,

So there's two things we're doing while we're sitting here,

One is we're resting at home,

In the present moment,

Then the other is that we're looking and seeing how we endlessly keep moving out of it,

In thought,

And as we keep seeing it,

See it's repetitive,

That's why it's repetitive,

You just keep doing it until the shift begins to happen,

You start to lose interest in that,

Because awareness has just seen it so much,

It's just like,

You lose interest,

And then this becomes more interesting,

And then you get a taste of it,

The familiarity of it,

Oh yes,

This is what I've been looking for,

What the tradition says,

Every human being is looking for this,

And I would put my life on it,

It's like,

This is what you're looking for,

Because it's yourself,

Your true self,

The mental image we have in our head,

Isn't what we are,

It's not always there,

So it can't be,

You are aware of it,

It's just a case of mistaken identity,

Okay,

So we're going to rest in the house of okayness,

We're going to rest in the present moment,

Just this moment,

So take a couple of deep breaths,

Which often helps just to arrive,

We notice how we leave home,

Ah,

Thinking,

So you rest in the body,

Feel the breath if you wish,

And we experience whatever arises,

Maybe a sound,

Maybe aching knee,

If we can ease any physical pain we do so,

So you notice that you're resting at home,

Then you notice that you've left it,

Thinking,

Having a thought,

Then you're back home,

Feel into that,

The present moment has limitless depths,

We have to spend time here,

So it can reveal itself,

We can become familiar with it,

Thinking cannot take you there,

Where are you now,

You find yourself away from home,

No criticism,

No judgment,

Just thinking,

Or having a thought,

It's pure observation,

There's a kindness to it,

It's no edge,

What's going on,

Just this moment,

That's all there is,

And it's everything,

The joy and the ease is right here,

Not in some imagined future,

It's not in mind,

Mind is a tool,

A brilliant tool,

Mind should be a servant,

Not the master,

Okay,

We'll bring this session to a close,

Remember guys to come back to the house of okayness during the day,

If you need daily life,

A little breathing space,

Come back to the breath,

Our feet,

Senses,

And have a lovely Christmas,

Thank you,

You've got the day,

See you next Monday,

Cheers,

Bye,

Bye,

Bye,

Bye,

Thank you,

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'll put a little bit of heart on there,

Thank you.
