Hello and welcome to your guided meditation coaching session on the importance of inclusivity.
The feeling of being included,
Social connection and belonging is vital to our sense of well-being and instrumental to the growth and health of a bigger community.
Today you'll have an opportunity to experience meditation coaching,
Which is a combination of meditation together with coaching where you'll receive questions to contemplate and to raise your own awareness.
Let's begin by sitting in a comfortable position where you feel at ease and tension free.
Center yourself and take a breath.
Inhale and exhale.
Let it go.
Release any stress or tension from your day.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Becoming aware of your breath.
The way that you're breathing.
Becoming aware of your physical body and any tensions in the physical body where you can gently relax and soften that part of your body.
We'll begin with three heart breaths.
See if you can gently bring your focus into your heart center.
The seat of compassion.
If you like,
You can place a hand on your heart and bring some energy and feeling into your heart center.
Imagine that you can breathe in through the back of your heart and take a breath.
Inhale and then exhale out through the front of your heart and let it go.
Breathe in peace into the back of your heart and breathe out any stress or tension.
Letting go.
Another breath.
Breathe in peace and breathe out calm.
Allowing yourself to be still.
Allowing yourself to listen to the following questions.
There's no need to think about them too hard.
Just allow what arises intuitively.
See if you can maintain this awareness in your heart space and stay connected to the presence of your physical body being grounded and embodied.
Relax deeply.
Accept yourself to the earth and allow yourself to be receptive.
What is it like to not be included?
Notice there's a shift in your breath.
What is it like to be excluded?
To feel like an outsider.
Like you don't belong.
Notice how it feels in your physical body,
In your being.
Notice your emotions,
Your energy and how it makes you feel.
Take a breath,
Inhale.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Have you ever felt that you couldn't express yourself?
When you felt you had to be silent.
A time when you didn't feel heard or seen or understood.
Become aware of what that experience is like and how you feel in your body.
Perhaps you notice tension,
Especially in the solar plexus.
What was it like when you weren't received for your ideas,
Your thoughts,
Your perspective?
Become aware of the experience of separation,
The pain of separation.
Now take this time just to take a breath,
Breathe in and exhale,
Let it go.
Allow yourself to go to an experience where you felt welcomed,
Included.
A place where you felt you belonged.
A place that felt like home in your body.
A place,
A time,
An environment where you felt completely connected.
And as you imagine this experience,
Become aware of the feeling sensation in your body and your energy.
How did it make you feel?
To feel included?
To feel that you could express yourself?
To feel that you could fully engage and be free?
How does it make you feel when you know your voice matters?
You are valuable.
Your perspective counts.
Notice how you feel in your center,
In your energy,
When you feel the sense of confidence to connect and engage with others.
How do you feel when your needs,
Your concerns and your desires are important?
That they matter and they count?
How does it feel to take up a space?
A space where you can express yourself,
Even a platform.
What if your unique perspective could make a difference,
A positive change in the life of others?
Because your perspective is a shared perspective.
It's valuable.
Notice what it's like for you to feel fully included,
Like you belong,
And how important it is for others to feel that same sense of safety,
Belonging and inclusion.
How does this sense of inclusion empower you to be your best self?
And how can you extend this feeling of complete inclusion and acceptance toward yourself?
Even if you feel you may not be included in the world,
How can you extend this feeling of infinite inclusion,
Of belonging,
That you exist for an important reason?
Extending this love and compassion toward yourself and understanding the importance of extending this same grace toward others.
We are all equal.
We all matter.
We are all valuable.
Let's close by taking this time to contemplate the importance of diversity,
Equity and true inclusion.
