It's time to let go of that not too sweet dependence on sugar.

We will begin by entering into a very deep state of relaxation.

Lie on your back with your arms to the side and your palms up.

Take a few deep breaths coming into the here and now.

Become aware of your toes and feel them drifting into a very deep,

Peaceful state of relaxation.

Feel that wave of relaxation traveling along the soles and heels of the feet.

Traveling up your ankles,

Letting go,

Letting go,

Relaxed.

Your shins and calves melting away deeper and deeper.

Fall around your knees and upper legs.

One hundred percent relaxed.

Now bring awareness to the fingers and let them go.

The palms,

Back of the hands and wrists join into this peaceful state of relaxation.

Your forearms,

Elbows and upper arms letting go,

Letting go,

Relaxed.

Now focus in on your pelvis and keep on letting go until there's nothing left to let go of.

Feel your low back and abdomen drifting into this peaceful,

Relaxed state.

Body back,

Chest,

Upper back and shoulders drifting away.

All around your neck,

Your chin,

Cheeks,

Lips and tongue joining into this very peaceful state of relaxation.

Nose,

Eyes,

Forehead and scalp all totally relaxed.

Mentally scan your body,

See if there's any area still holding on to any tension and use the power of your mind to just let it go.

In this relaxed state,

Visualize your mind expanding like a blossoming flower,

Radiantly opening up to a new way of thinking,

A new way of feeling.

Become aware right now of any sense of hunger or any sensations in your taste buds.

Just pay attention to these sensations.

What needs may they be craving?

Is this physical or emotional need?

From now on,

Before eating anything sweet,

Ask yourself this question and make a conscious decision on how you will satisfy this need.

Allow yourself to become aware of when you first started craving sugar.

Was sugar used as a reward?

A way of numbing an unpleasant experience?

Was sugar a prize or a way of celebration?

Has this early experience persisted as an emotion that stimulates you to reach out for sugar?

Has sugar just become a habit that is driving through your subconscious?

You can and you will break this cycle.

You know that sugar is just empty calories with no benefit to your body.

Deep down you know that sugar always leaves you more tired than before and drains energy rather than bring substance.

Sugar willpower is your conscious mind and will be reinforced by listening to and following the suggestions in this meditation.

Bring an image of your dining room or a place where you frequently cave in to your desire to eat sweets.

Move yourself here as if you were watching a movie.

What image does your body posture project?

Are you going through well established habit patterns of unconsciously satisfying this seemingly unstoppable compulsion to consume sweets?

Now use your conscious power of will to break this pattern.

See a big red X over this image and change the scene.

You are the director of this scene.

You are in charge.

Your posture reveals a determined person in control.

You happily reach out for wholesome food or possibly even just drink some water.

Stand up and realize your hunger and health would not be satisfied by empty calories.

You take a deep breath and acknowledge your emotional and physical needs as you move on satisfied with your conscious decision to use your will to honor your health and well-being.

Allow your conscious and subconscious mind to take in the following affirmations,

Ones that feel appropriate for you.

Place your index finger and thumb together as you silently and fervently repeat each one.

I am comfortable releasing unhealthy eating habits.

I praise myself whenever I choose to eat nourishing foods.

I forgive myself and learn from the occasional lapse in good judgment.

I deserve to be my ideal weight and eat appropriately.

My willpower gets stronger every day as I exercise it.

I am the master of my thoughts.

I reclaim my power and control of my body and mind.

I am transforming my life into a positive,

Healthier one.

I find the sweetness of life in ways beyond food.

Now take a few deep breaths,

Totally absorbing your meditative experience.

Start to move and stretch as you enter back into the world,

Remembering that whenever confronted with a sugar challenge,

Placing your index finger and thumb together will stimulate your will to do the healthy thing.
