Hello and welcome to this gentle space.
Take a moment to find a comfortable seated or lying down position.
Allow your eyes to gently close and bring your awareness inward.
Begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.
Again inhale deeply and exhale slowly.
Let your body soften with each breath,
Letting go of any tension,
Any pressure.
Let yourself arrive here just as you are.
Now gently begin to follow the rhythm of your breath,
Not trying to change it,
Just noticing.
Notice how your chest rises and falls,
How the breath flows in and out with ease.
This breath is your anchor,
Safe,
Steady,
Always returning you to the present moment.
With each breath allow yourself to sink deeper into a state of calm and openness.
Now gently bring to mind a moment where you felt guilt,
Something unresolved or perhaps something you've carried for too long.
Let it come into your awareness without judgment.
You don't need to fix or analyze it,
Just acknowledge that it's there.
Notice how it feels in your body.
Is there a heaviness,
A tightness?
Simply observe it.
And now breathe into that space.
Imagine your breath moving gently into the place where guilt lives within you,
Softening it,
Offering it compassion.
Now invite the energy of forgiveness into your heart.
Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or excusing what happened,
It means allowing yourself to heal.
You might silently repeat these words,
I acknowledge my humanity.
I am learning and growing.
I forgive myself for the mistakes I've made.
Say it again softly in your mind at your own pace,
I acknowledge my humanity.
I forgive myself for the mistakes I've made.
Feel the possibility of release.
Let forgiveness wash over you like a warm light,
Melting the layers of guilt and replacing them with tenderness and grace.
Now if you're ready bring to mind someone else you wish to forgive or someone who has caused you pain.
Feel into the edges of that experience.
If it feels right repeat quietly in your mind,
I release the weight of this pain.
I offer forgiveness not for them but for my own peace.
I choose to set myself free.
Let forgiveness be a softening,
Not a sudden act but a gentle unfolding.
As we come to the end of this meditation return once again to your breath.
Feel the air moving in and out.
Notice how your body feels now and bring your awareness to the spaciousness within you.
You are not defined by your past.
You are always capable of healing,
Of evolving,
Of beginning again.
When you feel ready gently wiggle your fingers and toes and slowly open your eyes.
Carry this softness,
This forgiveness into the rest of your day and remember you can always return to this meditation whenever you need.
