This is a powerful meditation,
As we cannot go back and change the past,
We cannot rewrite the story,
We cannot change the experience.
What we can do is rewrite how we feel about it,
And we can kind of change the way the mind sees it,
And we can make sure that the memories and experiences of the past don't affect us as much in the future.
If we can just feel the love,
And feel what it's like to receive the love,
That's one of the hardest things is receiving the love.
We're going to visualize going into a comfortable room,
And sit on a comfortable chair,
And then we're going to imagine our younger selves with us,
And we'll project the love from ourselves onto them,
And then we'll become them for a little bit,
And then we'll ask some questions of what it's like to receive love,
And what it's like to be that child in a loving world,
And then we'll return back to yourself now.
The reason why I set the scene slightly is because sometimes things can come up.
I just want you to know that everything is okay,
And we're in a safe environment,
And everything is well in this moment,
And whatever comes up,
Just allow it to be.
Firstly,
We'll sit back and relax,
And we'll just give that narrator in your mind a little time off for the moment.
There is nothing that needs to be done in this moment.
As we bring the awareness to,
I'm breathing in,
And I'm breathing out.
You don't need to do anything with the breath,
Just be aware of each breath in,
And be aware of each breath out,
And all the little nuances with the breath.
As you breathe in,
Imagine you're breathing in calmness.
As you breathe out,
Imagine you're relaxing a little more each time.
Breathing in calm,
Breathing out relaxed.
And we're going to go from the top of the head right down to our toes,
And just relaxing the muscles as we go.
Remember,
Relaxing isn't something you do.
You cannot force anything to relax.
It's just allowing it to relax,
And giving it permission.
We do this,
Start by just giving your forehead and your face permission to relax.
Breathing in calm,
Breathing out relaxed.
And behind your eyes and your cheeks,
And your jaw and your neck.
Just allowing it to soften and inviting each muscle to relax,
And let go of any tension.
Moving down through the shoulders,
Through your elbows,
Now through your hands.
Down through your torso,
Down your back,
Your belly and your bum and your knees,
Down your legs.
Just allowing it to relax each time with each out breath.
We're just equaling the pressure between the external world and the internal world.
And there's nothing that needs to be done in this moment.
You don't even need to get involved in your breath,
Just allow your breath to be what it is.
Now as you breathe in calm and breathe out relaxed,
Slowly allow every muscle in your body from your head to your toes in one big wave just to relax and let go one more time.
Everything is well in this moment,
This moment has everything it needs.
So now that we're completely relaxed,
Bring your awareness to your heart center.
Now imagine a room in your heart,
This room that you're able to climb down into.
This room has everything you need to feel safe and comfortable.
There is a comfortable chair,
Some bookcases,
Nice pictures on the wall of your choice.
It's decorated and everything is exactly the way you would want in your perfect room.
As you walk over to the comfortable chair,
You sit down and feel completely relaxed and well in.
Then you notice that there's a younger version of yourself there with you.
It's at a time in your life when you needed the people around you and you needed the love and the support.
They have no idea that you are the older version of them.
You are just someone that is calm,
Loving and wise.
Someone that they really appreciate having in their lives.
Someone they can trust,
They can feel comfortable with and someone they can rely on.
You are both interacting,
Talking and telling stories to each other and listening.
Perhaps you're laughing and joking.
You're just enjoying each other's company.
The more you enjoy your younger self's company,
You become aware of how much love you feel for your younger self and how much you care about your younger self.
There's this growing love and light within you,
Within your heart growing and expanding.
Each moment of realizing how much your younger self means to you.
And with each awareness of your breath,
It grows and expands and eventually includes your younger self,
Filling up the room.
Your younger self is completely unaware of this happening.
They just feel loved,
Safe and understood as you continue to listen and share stories with them.
Now imagine swapping position,
You becoming your younger self in the presence of this older wiser loving calm person.
You are feeling very much loved and feeling safe and secure,
Very much understood and accepted in this moment.
What does it feel like to be completely accepted?
What does it feel like to receive this love?
What does it feel like to be completely yourself?
Imagine as your younger self with everything you needed to develop in a healthy,
Confident and loving way.
And bring your awareness back to who you are now sat in the comfortable chair.
What does it feel like to be loving your younger self?
What does it feel like to see your younger self growing in a healthy,
Loving way?
Now bring your awareness back to being your younger self.
What is it like to receive this love from this amazing older person with you?
What is it like knowing that you can grow up knowing that you will always be loved and cared about and understood?
Now bring your awareness back to being yourself now sat in the comfortable chair.
And imagine your younger self merging with you,
For this time that younger self has all the love,
Acceptance and understanding and all the love they need as if they always had it.
Imagine what it feels like to have your inner child completely healed and been able to receive and give the love that they always deserved.
As you bring your awareness back to your breath and we leave the room and become more aware of the sounds going on outside of you,
My voice and the room you are in.
Knowing your life today and in the weeks ahead and even the years in the future.
Knowing that the whole self including your inner child is loved and understood and healed.
As we bring this meditation to the rest of the day,
Bringing your awareness to your breath in the room you are in,
Gently open your eyes,
Stick out your arms,
Shake them off a little bit,
Take a deep breath with some extra energy and smile while radiating all the love you have from within between yourself and your younger self and the rest of the world.
Just want to tell you,
You are enough and you are loved.
