Forgiveness Practice

This practice is designed for inviting in forgiveness and releasing the hurt of the past in order to live fully in the present. If you're ready to begin the forgiveness processes or are already in it, this would support your journey. It includes visualization throughout, moments of pause to do the process, and I close with namaste.

Let's begin by focusing in on your breath.

Pay attention as it flows in and out Allowing the breath to move into your belly and allowing your belly to rise and fall with each breath.

And as your body begins to relax and take a moment and scan your body and to see if there's any area that needs a little bit more encouragement to relax.

And with your next breath just imagine that part of you relaxing now.

Very well.

As you continue to breathe gently I'd like you to pretend now that you're somewhere out in nature.

Anywhere will do.

It's the perfect temperature and view.

It's a place that provides you a space to feel calm,

Peaceful,

Safe and secure.

A place to heal and thrive.

A place to see and accept yourself and your journey.

As you take in your surroundings,

Picking up a piece of nature near you and holding it in your hands.

You feel ready.

You know you are ready to begin this deep healing and as you release nature from your hand you feel a release waking up inside you.

As you make the choice to release the past hurts that are preventing you from living your life to the fullest.

That have prevented you from living in joy.

You're now ready to release the anger,

Disappointment,

Shame,

Guilt,

Hurt and to invite in joy,

Forgiveness,

Playfulness,

Fulfillment,

Courage,

Confidence.

And as you make this choice surrounded by nature,

Your biggest support person,

Pretend if you need to,

Arrives and brings you several green helium filled balloons.

As you take the first green balloon,

You're reminded of an emotional or physical injury that you are ready to release,

To forgive and you notice a marker attached to the string of the balloon.

You write the name of someone who hurt you that you are now willing to forgive.

You now decide to release the balloon and you let go.

As you let go of the green balloon,

You also release,

Remove and resolve any hurt,

Fear,

Anger,

Disappointment that that person has brought into your life.

All of those emotions are floating away with the balloon.

As you watch the balloon drift away from you,

It begins to get smaller as it drifts and you notice the memories of the pain begin to shift.

They become smaller and the color fades away from them.

The memory becomes muted and you notice that the memories are in the past and the emotions have been released and you've released the effect they had on your mind,

Body and soul.

And you begin to feel stronger,

Lighter and more joyful.

You watch the balloon fade away.

It's getting so small and continues to fade until it disappears completely.

And from this point forward,

When you talk about your experience,

You feel free from the invisible chains that once held you down and back from living your life on your terms.

And you know you can see,

Feel,

Hear that you are better and living your purpose because of the experience you had and overcame.

Even though it was incredibly painful,

Knowing that holding on to the pain and anger only hurt you more.

You continue taking each green balloon one at a time and writing the name of the person who hurt you and knowing that it all starts with a willingness to forgive and release the hurt,

Pain,

Anger,

Resentment,

Disappointment,

Guilt,

Shame from your mind and body.

Remembering that this is a process,

A practice.

With each balloon you release,

You'll feel lighter,

Freer,

Happier,

More confident,

More loving,

More loved,

Deeply knowing that you matter and you make a positive difference.

That you are releasing,

Removing and resolving all of those emotions that were keeping you stuck in the past and you're ready to move through them now and release them back into the world and as they fade away you know that the universe is recycling them into love and bliss for the greater good.

You find this place inside your heart and your body and your mind and you discover that you are now free to love,

To receive love,

To trust,

To live your life to the fullest.

I'll be silent for a few moments while you continue to release as many balloons as you need to and watch them fade away from your life.

Very well.

Take a moment to do an emotional,

Physical,

Mental and spiritual scan to see if there is anything or anyone left to forgive.

Go ahead and release,

Remove and resolve anything remaining.

You can ask your subconscious for help if you'd like.

Very well.

Now you feel this light of love,

Courage,

Trust,

Support,

Protection,

Healing and confidence growing inside you.

Starting from your heart and with each breath in and out it expands and continues to expand until it surrounds every part of you inside and out knowing this light is always with you and your breath fuels it.

Remembering you can come back to this experience anytime you need to as forgiveness is a practice and emotions are like waves.

They come and go.

Anytime you want to practice the process of forgiveness so that you can live a happier,

Lighter,

Freer life allowing your subconscious to guide you in a very healing and beneficial way knowing you're surrounded by love and love is always flowing within you and forgiveness brings you back to wholeness.

Very well.

Take a moment to feel how good you feel right now to honor the work you've done,

To honor your mind,

Body and soul.

Now take a moment and bring your attention back to your breath allowing it to move in and out.

Perhaps you want to take a deep breath and let it out nice and slow and do that one more time and then wiggle your fingers and toes and continue to breathe gently and when you're ready go ahead and open your eyes approaching today with a new perspective.

A perspective of love,

Forgiveness,

Healing,

Trust and knowing that you can make it through any obstacle life has given you.
