Mantras can help to bring greater empowerment,
Ease,
And steadiness into our lives.
And mantras can be seamlessly incorporated into our daily routines.
For example,
Many of us enjoy a warm beverage upon waking,
Or during a midday break,
Or when winding down before sleep.
During this brief guided meditation,
I focus on tea as a warm beverage,
But other beverages such as coffee,
Hot cocoa,
Or warm milk will work equally well.
The practice is very simple.
You need only a warm cup of your favorite beverage and a small window of time.
If you are currently holding a cup of tea in your hands,
Take a moment to feel the cup's warmth and notice if there is any steam that is swirling from its surface.
If you wish,
You can place a hand over the cup's opening to feel the steam gently tickling the palm of your hand or your fingers.
Observe the steam slowly dissipating and bringing the tea to a comfortable temperature for that first sip.
Prior to taking your first sip,
Take another moment here to breathe in the tea's aroma.
There's no need to analyze the complexities of the scent.
Simply breathe it in and enjoy that experience.
When you feel ready,
Take your first sip and then say either out loud or silently,
I am grateful for this tea.
When you're ready,
Take your next sip,
Saying afterwards,
I am thankful for this time.
As you continue drinking your tea,
Continue to alternate these mantras in between sips.
I am grateful for this tea.
I am thankful for this time.
This alternating repetition,
When paired with the small sips of tea,
Creates a reassuring rhythm and the steadying effects of this rhythm can stay with you for hours after you have taken your last sip.
I hope that you find this practice to be helpful and something that you can easily incorporate into your daily routine.
I wish you a beautiful day and a restful night.
