Hi,

I'm Daisy from Spiritual Mixtape.

Today I will guide you through a breathwork practice to tap into the summer energy and celebrate the upcoming solstice.

This practice is all about planting intentions and then charging them up with the solar power of those long,

Hot,

Sunny days.

You'll infuse some youthful,

Sunny fun into both your mind and your body.

So get ready to let your inner sunshine out.

In this breathwork,

You will practice what is called a recovery breath.

It is two inhales per exhale,

Breathing all the way into the belly at first and then taking a second inhale into the chest with the exhale falling out naturally afterwards.

Each part of the breath pattern is connected.

There is no holding of the breath at all.

It will feel like this.

Inhale,

Inhale,

And exhale.

This is an active practice,

So it is common for either emotions to come bubbling up or for there to be physical symptoms like a tingling in the hands or in the legs.

You can shake out those tingles and you can let the emotions pass by regulating your breath and dropping back in when you feel comfortable.

If you would like to do this practice with your normal breath pattern,

Go ahead.

There are no wrong answers here.

This practice is best done lying down with your eyes closed.

Feel free to sit comfortably in a seat with your shoulders rolled back and your eyes in a softened gaze.

Feel that pull of breath all the way into the belly,

Exhale falls out.

Breathing into the belly,

Keep following its rhythm.

See yourself six months from now at the winter solstice.

Visualize your intention come to life.

See it like a movie,

With color,

With music,

With its own pulse.

Don't lose your breath.

Always looking for that double inhale.

Make it bold,

Fill it with that summer energy.

Let that double inhale go.

Finding your natural rhythm,

Inhaling gently through the nose,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Inhaling again through the nose and the exhale through the mouth.

Imagine your breath as a thread,

Connecting your summer's intentions to your future triumphs.

Tie this energetic thread to your heart center and plant your intentions in your thoughts.

Let them take hold and let them blossom.

Feel your breath move through your nose,

Letting your chest rise and fall on the exhale.

Breathing in again and letting the exhale fall out.

You can take a stretch up and overhead.

You can wiggle those fingers and toes If your eyes are closed,

You can blink them open now.

You are charged with the summer sun.
