Namaste,

Sacred Soul,

The gentle power of gratitude.

There are dreams we stitch together with our desires.

There are ideals we wish to live by.

There are visions of the future we create with our twinkling eyes.

And then there is effort every day.

There is the struggle we go through.

There are the goals we set and the determination we have to achieve them.

There is sweet love we wish to drench in.

And there is love each of us longs to give.

There is always a destination somewhere in the future we see ourselves in.

There is always a home,

Not here,

Not now,

But in the far end of time,

Where we wish to reach someday and rest our tired,

Scarred soul.

Isn't there then always a sense of scarcity we live in?

A need for more to fulfill our thirsty soul?

This is the beautiful paradox of life we live in.

The life we miss to see here right now,

Under our own foot,

Touching our tender skin and oozing out of our clothes.

The future is best created out of a state of mind of fulfillment and not an empty,

Begging bowl of wants.

How can we then create our best lives?

How can we quench our never-ending desires?

How can our cup be full when the stars that we wish to shine are far,

Far above in the sky of uncertainty?

The answer is gratitude.

Thankfulness is a state of mind,

A trigger to happy hormones,

A shutter,

A gate that opens a gush of joy,

Love,

Fulfillment,

And abundance.

Come with me today,

My friend,

My lover,

My brother,

My sister.

Come with me.

Let's begin this new pilgrimage of life.

Mindfully close the lids of your eyes now and open your inner vision.

Make yourself 10% more comfortable than you already are sitting or lying down.

All is well in the universe now.

Let your lips curve into a smile.

Allow your face to relax,

Your shoulders to release any tension,

Your arms and feet to let go of the hold.

Arrive at the tip of your nose and feel that gentle brush of your inhale.

This air,

This chi energy,

The prana,

The life-giving force comes and goes into your body without hesitation.

Do you realize it keeps you alive?

Can you honor this breath of life with the next inhale?

Can you thank that next selfless exhale?

Your eyes that open to see the sunrise in the morning,

Thank them,

For life would be way different without them.

Thank your nose for the aromas.

Thank your ears for without them there would be no birds singing in your backyard.

There would be no crashing sound of the waves.

There would be no tapping of the rain on your windowsill.

Thank your tongue for the array of tastes you feel and enjoy.

Thank your skin,

My friend.

Thank your skin for the touch,

The kiss,

The warmth of loved ones you feel.

Your heart,

Right?

It beats.

It beats tirelessly day in and day out.

From the day you were born to the moment you would bid farewell,

Your heart doesn't miss a beat.

It's pumping in the background of your lives constantly,

No matter what your mood,

What your state of mind,

Your heart beats for you.

Place your palms tenderly on your heart now.

Honor this friend inside you and whisper a quick thank you.

Thank your stomach for the grinding,

The absorbing it does.

The food you eat becomes your bones,

Your tissues,

Your marrow,

Your fingernails and your tears.

There is a process,

There is nothing but a wondrous bringing together of organs in your body for this to happen.

Thank all these organs,

These elements that come together to help you be alive and chase your dreams.

The arms and limbs that make movement possible,

That help you flow like wind.

Thank them.

Thank them for movement opens up a world of possibilities for you.

Do you see my dear soul that your body is nothing short of a miracle?

The trillion cells in your body synchronize a dance so beautiful.

How can you be not in awe of this?

The complexity of tasks it does,

Yet it feels so easy and simple on the outside.

Feel the superpower of your beautiful body.

Thank kiss love every inch of it.

Thank the lashes of the eye,

The saliva that oozes to digest your food,

The sneeze that keeps pollutants away,

The neck that is a pivot,

The fingers for helping you hold arms,

The arms that make hugs possible,

The lips for that smile you wear like diamonds.

Thank your body.

Thank your aliveness.

Celebrate the miracle that you are.

The food on your plate.

Now the food on your plate is yet another miracle.

Maybe you haven't paid attention to yet,

But let's try tracing back its journey.

The seed of the food that you eat was nourished by the earth,

Dried by the sun,

Wet by the rains.

There was a farmer and his family and their hard work that went into making your food.

There was a whole group of people,

Machinery and transport that went into bringing this food into your house.

There was someone's energy involved in cooking this for you.

Say thank you for the food on your plate,

For it is a fruit of the effort of a lot of hands.

Do you notice the brick and the cement that make the house you stay in?

There is a roof above your head as a silent blessing,

Helping you sleep and live by.

Thank the home that you live in.

There is a job,

A work that you do.

Good or bad,

There is an income that comes in that makes dreams possible.

Thank your job and your work.

Do you notice there are clothes you can afford to buy and wear?

Each thread stitched into a design you cherish,

A fabric that keeps you warm and covered.

Thank the clothes that are made available to you.

There is divine richness in the pure cup of water that you drink.

Can you reverently hold your next glass of water before consuming?

For a lot of the world does not have access to clean drinking water and you can have it anytime.

This is truly a blessing from the universe to you.

Thank you to the sun for shining bright,

For being the fire in the belly of life.

Thank you to the moon for showing us the shine in spite of the waning and the waxing faces.

Thank you to the beautiful stars for making our nights brighter.

Thank you to Mother Earth for nurturing us and everything else in her patient,

Ever-loving lap.

Thank you to the rivers for making water possible,

For irrigating our crops with life,

For being the arteries of the earth.

Thank you to the birds and the bees for spreading vegetation,

For existing in a world that is more beautiful by their divine presence.

Thank you for the trees,

Their shade,

Their lessons on standing tall and enjoying the view wherever they are and most of all,

Teaching us to let go of dead leaves.

Thank you to the mountains for their towering presence,

For reminding us that we are only a tiny speck in the endless universe.

Thank you.

There is richness in your life right now.

The universe is making,

Working to make your dreams come true.

It brings you people and experiences that benefit your highest good.

There are people who have arrived in your life at some point who have been part of your journey.

Thank them.

I'll live you for some time here to honor and thank those people.

Send them your unconditional love and gratitude.

You've probably failed at least once.

Rejection might have pulled you into the abyss of despair.

Self-criticism would have led you to walk down the dark path of depression.

Abuse,

Mental or physical,

Might have forced you to silently clench your teeth and cry in the darkness of night.

When you're craving for love or desperate holding on to that love,

You might have broken your heart into a million pieces.

Some of these sad,

Painful bits might still be there,

Piercing a wound in your soul and letting out a river of tear.

Hopelessness might have suffocated you of your breath of happiness.

Fingers might have been pointed at you,

Holding you responsible for a myriad of events,

Your intentions questioned,

Your sincerity judged.

Guilt might have crept up your divine being and forced you to curl in the bed and wish you had just died.

Do you see you survived?

You are alive.

You can smile.

You still can reach out and help.

It's the spirit in you,

My friend,

That undying,

Brave spirit.

Take a moment,

Take a deep breath and acknowledge this brave spirit residing inside you that never ever gives up.

The spark in you that still shines and hopes and is ready to spread into its full potential.

The spirit in you is a seed,

The seed that can sprout and grow into a never ending peace,

Joy and love.

Thank that undying spirit in you,

That stream of higher intelligence that forever is in your favor.

Life is in your favor.

That force that fights for you,

The guard living under your skin,

Thriving with your breath,

Dreaming in your core.

You my radiant soul are sheer magic.

You are a masterpiece of life.

The universe is in your favor.

Open your inner eyes and feel the beauty in and around.

Soften your heart to it.

Become aware of the floor beneath.

The clothes that touch your skin.

The sounds surrounding you.

As you begin to get ready for the rest of the day,

Remember the little,

Simple,

Innumerable blessings and gifts that you could be grateful for and be humble about.

The world is beautiful.

You are beautiful here,

Now.

Keep both palms on your heart now.

Let love with gratitude flow through your body and out into the world.

Gently whisper,

Thank you.

Thank you.
