Shadow work is difficult and important. When your healing journey feels long and hard, this meditation will help to shine a light on the shadow side that you may be experiencing. This practice features relaxation and visualization to help you access your light amidst the shadows.

Go ahead and find a comfortable sitting position or lay down and just feel the weight of your body sink down into whatever you are resting on right now.

Feel your feet on the floor,

Feel your body on your furniture and pull those shoulders up to your ears,

Hold them there and then release them back and down.

Really straightening that spine and then relax the shoulders,

Relax the neck,

Relax the face,

Relax your hands,

Relax your torso,

Relax your legs and finally relax your feet.

And imagine now that a cord goes down from the bottom of your feet through the structure,

The building that you might be in and down into the earth.

Imagine it passing through grass,

Through dirt,

Through rocks,

Through crystals,

All the way to the center of the earth.

And imagine it picking up there some internal energy from mother earth and bringing that back up through the cord,

Back up through those layers of the earth.

And feel it now warming the bottom of your feet,

Warming the tops of your feet.

And as we focus on the feet,

We want to clear them of any energy that might be stagnant there.

And we show gratitude for your feet which carry you to the physical places where you'll find healing.

And we thank them for carrying you through life,

For taking you where you need to go.

Continue this feeling of gratitude as you feel that light moving up through your calves and through your legs.

And again,

Showing gratitude for the strength of the muscles in this region,

For their ability to continue to carry you to move,

To move through your day,

Through your life,

Through your healing journey.

And now feel this light move up through your lower abdomen,

Moving up to about your belly button.

And give thanks to this area for showing you your feelings in your gut.

This is where that all knowing resides.

Let's give thanks now for that knowing,

That gut feeling.

And let's clear this area and ask that it would be a guidepost to the truth and that it would be a clear compass pointing you where you need to go.

Let's also ask that you would renew your sense of self,

That you would trust in yourself.

Know that you can do it and feel that self worth in this stomach area swirling and clearing.

Feel the light move up now to your chest,

Clearing and cleansing your heart,

Opening you,

Creating a space within you that is ready and willing to receive love.

Allow that healing energy to come into your heart.

Feel it swirling around.

And as the space in your chest is cleared,

Just imagine radiating from it is pure love.

You are love and align with this ability to give and receive and to see it as an open,

Flowing and working channel.

Feel that light now moving up to your throat,

Clearing your throat space so that you can speak honestly and lovingly,

Connecting to the heart down below so that the words that you say are steeped in love,

Respect and pure intentions.

Feel now that light moving up through your jaw,

Over your cheeks and up to your eyes.

Imagine this light swirling around now,

Clearing and cleansing your eyes so that you are able to see the truth in all situations.

You're building upon that trust and that love and that ability to speak the truth.

And you are asking and showing gratitude for your eyes for showing you the truth,

Knowing what is right for you and seeing things as they truly are.

And now you feel this light moving up,

Clearing your mind and now your whole head feels full with light and it's radiating out through the top.

And we give thanks now for a clear mind that is capable of understanding,

Discerning and connecting you to the information that you need in order to heal.

And here in your brain with this lightness,

You are also gifted with the ability to accept your life as it is right now and to let go of any obsessive or recurring thoughts that are holding you back.

This is where we clear that shadow side,

That dark corner.

And so now I want you to imagine your entire body as a beam of light that is shining into that dark corner in front of you,

That dark corner where all of your shadow sides live,

Not just the shadow side to healing,

But any type of shadow that you might have in your life.

Imagine that you are shining a light on it and that this knowledge of yourself is built into your being and know that nothing is so hard as shining a flashlight on it.

That immediately cleared that corner,

Didn't it?

See that corner is clear and free of any cobwebs,

Any dust,

Any darkness.

It's light and it's bright now.

You are nothing but light and you shine this light wherever you go.

And so now as you continue to feel this light,

I want you to bring it with you back into the room that you're in.

Slowly wiggle your toes and wiggle your fingers.

Feel yourself coming back now.

A beam of light in a world that can sometimes feel dark.

Know and trust that you are a beautiful light for others.

And when you feel ready,

Open your eyes and come back to your room.
