COURSE

You Are The Oracle: Tarot 101

With Dana Whitby

In this course, we examine each card in a Tarot deck! We start with the story of the Fool's Journey, which is depicted in the first 22 cards. These cards make up the Major Arcana, meaning "greater mysteries", which describe the universal spiritual lessons we all experience in our lives. We then move on to learn the Minor Arcana, meaning "lesser mysteries", which describe our day-to-day experiences as human beings. Throughout this course, tips and tricks are given to help commit these card meanings to memory, as well as encouragement to use your intuition to make deep connections with each card. It would be very helpful to have a Tarot deck with you as you listen to this lesson in order to see the artwork and feel the energy of each card. The Rider-Waite Tarot is mentioned.

Lesson 4

Minor Arcana Numerology & Suits

In this lesson, you will learn about the 4 suits in a Tarot deck, including Swords, Wands, Pentacles, and Cups. The numerology of Ace through 10 is also discussed. A formula is shared to help commit these cards to memory, which is combining the numerology of the card with the meaning of the suit. For example, all twos in the deck represent decision-making and balance. Swords represent your mental landscape, Wands are creative energy, Pentacles are your time, money, and energy and Cups represent your emotional landscape. When you combine the numerology with the suit meaning, you can quickly identify the meaning of a card. For example, the 2 of wands would be about decision-making and finding balance in the area of your creative pursuits, and the 2 of pentacles would indicate decision-making and finding balance in how you spend your time, money, and energy. If you have a Tarot deck with you, it would be helpful to arrange the Minor Arcana by card number so that you can see all four cards from each suit of the same number at once.

This was a great primer! I’ve been working with cards for awhile but this explanation really appealed to my minds desire to see an overarching structure that makes sense. I’d call this the four of swords of tarot instruction maybe? 😁 thank you!!!
