We are doing a chakra meditation.
Chakras are energy centers and they stem from Indian tradition.
In this meditation we will visit seven chakras,
But I do want you to know that we have many more chakras.
These seven have been selected in the New Age movement,
As well as the colors that are associated with these chakras.
So do see or feel if all of it resonates with you,
And if not,
If for example you will see a different color,
Don't worry about it too much.
And I'd also like you to try and feel,
Either in your brain or observe your mind,
What rises when we visit every chakra.
Now when you're ready,
Lie down or sit up in a comfortable position.
Make sure you're not straining yourself.
Start by focusing on your breath.
And we'll do a couple of guided breaths,
Where I will count the inhale and the exhale,
To make sure they're matched in length.
When you're ready,
Take a gentle breath in and a long breath out.
And then we inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Fours.
Exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Fours.
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Fours.
And exhale.
Two,
Three,
Fours.
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Fours.
Exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold your breath for a moment.
And last inhale.
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold.
And out.
Two,
Three,
Four.
Return to your normal breathing,
Your natural breathing.
And observe any sounds you may hear.
Any colors you may see on the inside of your eyes.
Take a breath in and out.
And start thinking of your breath as a rise and a fall.
And on your next exhale,
Release anything or everything that you don't need in this particular moment.
If things require your attention,
You can revisit them later.
Breathe in and out.
Become aware of the space around you.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
And then we bring our attention to the base of our spine,
So the back of our body.
This is the location of the root chakra.
And the color for the root chakra is red,
Red like the earth.
And it is your connection with the ground,
The base of all.
This is where you ground yourself,
In the here and now.
And scan this particular chakra in your mind for any responses to this meditation.
If you like,
You can say to yourself,
I accept myself as I am.
I am supported.
Breathe in and out.
And we bring our attention to just below our belly button.
This is our chakra of creativity and intimacy.
And the color is orange,
Like the rising sun.
Bring your breath to this point just below the belly button.
Soften it on the exhale and expand on the inhale.
And say to yourself,
If you like,
I know and honor my needs.
I let myself be nourished.
Breathe in and out.
Move your attention slightly up to the area of your solar plexus.
The chakra of self-power and confidence.
Soften and expand this area on the rise and fall of your breath.
Explore any sensations.
The color of the solar plexus chakra is yellow,
Like the bright sunshine.
And imagine that the sun warms your solar plexus.
You can say to yourself,
I value myself.
I am enough.
Breathe in and out.
Move your attention to the heart center.
The chakra of self-development and growth.
Breathe in to your heart center.
Let it soften and expand.
The color of the heart chakra is green.
See if you can imagine green in this particular area.
And like I said before,
If you see another color or no color,
That's okay too.
Connect to the heart,
Your heartbeat.
And say to yourself,
I open myself to options,
To welcome growth.
I allow myself to give and receive love freely.
Breathe in and out.
As we move up to our neck and throat,
Our chakra of expression and will.
Soften and expand on the inhale and exhale.
Expand on the inhale.
Soften on the exhale.
And if you feel any congestion here,
You may want to explore if there's things that need to be said to yourself or to other people.
And start by saying this to yourself.
I acknowledge and I speak my truth.
I express myself.
And in this,
I am not guided by rewards or rejection.
We move our attention through our face up into our forehead.
Right in the middle between our eyebrows.
Chakra of wisdom and intuition.
Dark blue indigo color of the night sky.
See if you can breathe into your forehead.
Expand on the inhale.
Soften on the exhale.
Smooth out any wrinkles or worries that you've stored there.
If you like,
Say to yourself,
I acknowledge what I know and feel.
I welcome clarity and understanding.
Everything unfolds as it should be in time.
Breathe in and out.
As we travel across the top of our head to the crown of our head,
Our last chakra that we visit in this meditation.
The chakra of oneness.
Breathe into the crown of your head.
Say to yourself,
I am not an island.
I am connected to people near and far.
I am connected to the world and all living things.
Breathe in and out.
For a moment,
Consider this very brief journey.
It started at how we're grounded all the way up to how we are connected to everything else.
Now feel your entire body.
How you're seated or lying down.
See if you can feel the outline of your body.
See if you can still feel the difference between where,
For example,
Your fingers end and space begins.
And again,
This is only an observation.
There's no right and wrong.
Now go back inside of your body and see if you feel any energy in all the points we just visited or anywhere else in your body.
This could present as a warmth,
Possibly a tingling feeling.
If you feel any excess energy,
You can try to direct that to your solar plexus chakra,
Where you store this energy for later use.
Breathe in and out.
Now I leave you for a brief period.
Spend some time with yourself.
During these two minutes,
You can reflect on the meditation.
You can research the stillness or observe your thoughts and feelings.
Or you choose to take this time to appreciate yourself and your uniqueness.
O-o-o-o-o-a-aM I notch O Rich Pure thoughts are drifting.
Don't fight it.
See what happens.
And if you like,
Try to focus again on what you would like to focus on.
Slowly bring your attention back to the room you are sitting in or lying in.
Go gently on yourself.
Take your time.
If you like,
Wriggle your hands,
Toes and fingers.
Move your head from side to side.
Take another three breaths,
Natural breaths,
While you observe.
If you like,
Stay a bit longer where you are.
Or if you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Namaste.
