It's time to go to sleep now.
As you listen to the gentle pitter patter of the rain.
Letting yourself get even more cosy in your bed.
Feeling cocooned in warmth and safety.
As you listen to that gentle drip drop of the rain outside.
It's okay to let go of any thoughts that might be taking up space.
That might be preventing you from falling asleep right now.
Give yourself permission to fall asleep.
Anything that's on your mind,
Any task that needs completing,
Any anxiety.
That might be begging for your attention.
It doesn't need to be looked at,
To be held onto right now.
It is so important that you get the rest that you need and the rest that you deserve.
So let's create a healthy relationship with our sleep.
It is such a special time for you to consciously let go of your thinking mind.
Moving into deeper breathing.
Closing your eyes.
Allowing your body to fully relax into the mattress.
Allowing all the tension to just seep away with every breath.
But instead of fixating on the fact that maybe you can't fall asleep and that's why you're here listening to this meditation.
Let's just focus on being here.
And quieting the mind,
Listening to the gentle pitter patter of the rain.
Deepening your breath.
Feeling the belly rise and fall as you sink deeper into relaxation and rest.
And it doesn't matter if it takes you five,
Ten minutes or even an hour to fall asleep.
You will get there.
Let's remove the stress from sleep.
Listening to how beautiful the rain sounds.
Now it just seems to naturally soothe the mind hearing the rain outside.
This vital part of nature.
That we love the sound.
Gently falling.
And yet we are unaffected by its damp coldness.
Instead we are cozy and safe and warm,
Protected.
How beautiful that is.
So we're just going to take some time to just listen to nature together.
And seeing how that feels when we just listen.

Reached a point where you've drifted off to sleep.
But if not,
Feel free to go back to the beginning of this meditation and listen once more or as many times as it takes for you to fall asleep.
Take care,
Sweet dreams and I'll see you next time.
