Hello and welcome to this guided meditation to support you through Mercury Retrograde.
As you get comfortable and prepare for this guided meditation,
Let's take a moment to understand what exactly Mercury Retrograde is.
Mercury Retrograde is a phenomenon in astrology,
Where the planet Mercury appears as though it's moving backwards in its orbit.
In actuality,
This isn't exactly what's happening.
An optical illusion instead,
Which is caused by the relative positions of Mercury and the Earth.
It's believed that during this apparent slowing down or backwards motion that Mercury has from our positioning on Earth,
That communication,
Technology and our plans seem to start to get a little bit chaotic or things seemingly go wrong for us.
Now we can choose to feel a victim of Mercury Retrograde.
We can choose to blame everything going wrong on Mercury Retrograde,
Or instead we can look at this time as a period of redirection,
Of rerouting.
We are being asked to double check things before we follow through on a contract or a plan.
We're seeing moments where things maybe don't go right as opportunity to do things better,
Plan better next time.
Or maybe when we get into arguments with loved ones or friends or in the workplace,
How could we be communicating better moving forward?
So in this meditation today,
We are going to help restore some calm and remind you of the security,
Stability and protection that you can feel during this time.
You are not a victim,
You are just being affected by the collective energies that are happening right now,
And you are more than capable of moving through it.
Hopefully by now you're feeling nice and comfortable in whichever position that you want to stay in,
So feel free to close your eyes if you feel comfortable to do so and take a few moments to have some steady,
Slow,
Deep breaths.
Breathing in slowly through your nose and exhaling even more slowly through your mouth,
With every exhale allowing tension,
Mind chatter,
Anxiety,
Restlessness to just float away.
Committing yourself to the practice of meditation,
Of being mindful of your thoughts.
The purpose is not to have no thoughts at all,
But to become aware of the thoughts that we are having.
In order to feel more stable,
Let's begin by connecting to earth's energy.
Imagining that as we breathe,
Roots begin to grow from the base of the spine,
Or maybe the soles of the feet,
Reaching deep into the earth,
Winding through the soil,
The top layers of the earth's crust,
All the way down into the heart,
The core of mother earth.
And every moment that you spend here on this earth,
You are always connected and grounded,
And supported by her energy.
You might just sometimes need a conscious reminder to do so,
Or to feel so.
And so let's spend a moment here,
Envisioning these roots,
Breathing into the moment,
Settling into,
And as we feel these powerful cords of connection with mother earth,
Let us also envision a shimmering,
Translucent bubble of light surrounding us.
This bubble is our shield of protection,
And this bubble can filter out negative energies,
And unwanted energies that might be interfering with our sense of calm and stability at this time.
Because we cannot change the things that happen around us,
But we can change the way that we feel about them.
So let's help that bubble form and strengthen around us,
Helping us feel safe and protected.
It shimmers so brightly that all of this unwanted negativity simply bounces away as it comes into contact,
And as it forms,
It intuitively will allow any negative thought processes,
Or feelings,
Or energies to leave your energy field clear and calm.
Let us seal in this bubble of protection and the grounding from mother earth with an affirmation,
I am grounded,
Stable,
And connected.
I am I am supported by mother earth's energy.
I am grounded,
Stable,

And connected.
I am supported by mother earth's energy.
In astrology,
Mercury is the ruler of communication,
Intelligence,
Memory.
It has a very rational energy to it,
But at the same time possesses a flexibility and adaptability that we can choose to embody during retrograde.
So instead of seeing this sometimes chaotic season as an obstacle to get through,
Can we see mercury as a guide that provides clarity and deep insight?
Can we use any diversions and obstacles that come our way as opportunities to grow,
Do better?
But also,
Is this chaos arriving in order to help you find ways in which to manage the chaos?
Not a test exactly,
But a window of opportunity to see how well you can regulate yourself during this time.
And let's draw our attention to our breathing once more as we consider the idea of regulating ourselves during times of stress,
And remembering that your breath is one of the simplest and most effective tools that you have to calm yourself in the chaos.
So just spend this moment noticing the rhythm of your inhales and exhales,
Maybe even the sensation of the air as it enters your nose,
And the warmth as it leaves.
Knowing that when you extend your exhales just a little bit further,
You're creating this powerful dialogue between the mind and the body,
That you are safe and everything is going to be okay.
And if you notice your thoughts begin to wander,
Just bringing your awareness back again,
Back to the breath,
Back to the rise and fall of your abdomen,
Back to the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves your body.
Is there any tension that you could let go of right now?
Any imprints of the mercury retrograde chaos that might have already taken place for you?
Maybe you can relax your jaw for me,
Stop frowning,
Allow all the muscles in your face to relax,
Your hands to unclench,
And just releasing it all,
Letting go of the illusion that you are in control of everything,
Letting go of the illusion that you have to be in control to feel safe.
Acknowledging that change is a natural part of life,
That this retrograde can be an opportunity for growth and transformation if you wish to see it that way.
Can you embrace any change that comes your way with an open heart and a positive mindset?
Can you choose to see things differently?
And just affirming gently with yourself,
Repeating silently,
Or maybe out loud if you feel comfortable doing so.
I release the need to completely control every aspect of my life.
I understand and accept that sometimes chaos can lead to unexpected blessings and growth for me.
I can choose to feel calm in the chaos.
I am a vibrant light of stability and strength amongst any adversity I might face.
I release the need to be perfect,
And I embrace the beauty of imperfection.
And this one,
Most of all,
I hope you carry with you for the rest,
Certainly of mercury retrograde season,
But also beyond that.
I trust in the journey,
Even when it's unpredictable.

Life is inherently uncertain,
And this uncertainty can challenge our attachment to what is familiar.
And so embracing this uncertainty,

You are capable of regulating and calming yourself through any storm.
You are resilient,
Adaptable,
And able to navigate challenges.

Know that you can always come back to this meditation to reconnect and remember that you can be calm in the chaos,
And also remembering that chaos is a catalyst for transformation and growth.
