A Meditation For Self Love

In this guided meditation, we focus on self-love. By returning to the breath, we deepen our connection with love. By focusing on the senses, we bring our awareness to the parts of us that need more love. Love is easily created by focusing our attention inward.

You are listening to a guided meditation on self-love.

My name is Sonia Lee and I'm very happy to be guiding you through this meditation.

The purpose is to create more balance,

Find joy,

And be more confident in our day-to-day.

So with that in mind,

Let's begin this self-love practice.

Together let's get into a nice,

Relaxing position.

Remove any distractions for the duration of this session.

Let's focus on our breath.

Our breath has been with us literally every moment of our life,

Changing with every demand,

Every experience,

Every circumstance,

And flowing effortlessly even when we're resting.

Our breath is proven to change our bodies and minds for the better.

So let's take five full deep breaths together and hold each one at the top,

Then naturally exhaling.

Let's begin.

Deep inhale in,

Expanding your belly and lungs as much as you can.

Hold it.

And exhale gently with relief.

Deep inhale in.

Hold it.

Hold it.

And exhaling without any effort.

Deep inhale in.

Holding.

Holding.

And letting it flow.

Deep inhale in.

Notice how full your belly is.

Holding it.

Pausing.

Maybe sip in a little bit more air.

And exhale any tension or worry.

Deep inhale in.

Holding self-love.

Feeling this joy.

And exhaling into complete relaxation.

Continue to let your breath flow at a pace that doesn't require any extra effort on your part.

Good.

By doing this,

You are proving that you are capable of self-love.

Deep breathing increases the supply of oxygen to your brain and stimulates the nervous system.

By breathing deeply and often,

You are commanding your body to rest,

To relax,

And to rejuvenate itself.

This is self-love.

And you can do this any time of the day.

Now let's honor ourself by relaxing the mind even further.

Notice how your thoughts are rising in your mind,

One after the other.

See them come.

See them go.

And some thoughts might linger for longer.

Some thoughts only come in for a split second.

And if you can really focus,

You'll notice that even smaller thoughts,

Even words that come into your mind,

Will fill the space.

Now let's focus on hearing.

Focus on some of the sounds around you.

Can you hear the sound of your breath?

Can you hear nature nearby?

Or perhaps cars?

People talking?

Just go from each sound to sound,

Focusing on only one at a time.

Notice each sound and allow them to come and go.

And see them as tiny waves of relaxation,

Gently calming your mind.

Good.

Your mind will continue to relax as you activate your senses.

Now let's use your power of visualization to induce self-love.

Imagine yourself full of an abundance of self-love.

See yourself now making healthy choices,

Choosing healthy foods,

Taking care of your body.

Imagine you treating your body well,

Enjoying these moments,

Feeling joy.

And imagine that you have a strong will to avoid things that are not healthy.

Imagine yourself with great confidence and the ability to say no to things that don't make you feel good about yourself.

Good.

You must be very proud of yourself.

Taking care of yourself is an essential component in self-love.

Another form of self-love is observing your mental chatter.

But in order to expand on this self-love,

You have to make note of the thoughts that come into your mind,

The positive,

The negative,

And the neutral thoughts that come in.

So hear yourself saying,

When I fully love myself,

I can fully love others.

Deciding to love myself is an amazing thing.

And with every day,

I allow myself to grow more and more in love with who I am.

I am worthy of love,

And I honor the joy that comes with it.

I am deciding to love myself unconditionally no matter what happens.

I deserve love and self-respect.

And with that,

My self-esteem grows too.

I love and accept everything about myself.

I completely and always love myself.

And today,

I love myself more than I did yesterday.

Because loving myself is easy.

The more I love myself,

The healthier I become.

I truly love every moment of my existence.

And every part of me is encompassed with love.

I have unconditional love for myself that flows in abundance to me,

My body,

My inner chatter,

And to everyone around me.

I fully love myself because I am filled with love.

Now,

I invite you to gently open your eyes and take a deep breath and know what it's like to love yourself and remember this moment.

Let's return to the senses and return to how we feel in our body.

Is there a part of your body that needs self-love?

If so,

Gently bring your attention to that part and say to that part,

I love you.

Good.

Is there another part of your body that needs more love?

If so,

Let's focus on that part too and say,

I love you.

Great.

Good job.

Now,

Let's focus on our visualization.

Can you visualize yourself in a place where you felt loved?

Good.

Keep going.

And when you're ready,

Let's focus on the sound around you.

What do you hear?

Acknowledge it.

If it's distracting,

Offer it love.

Good.

Your mind continues to relax as you activate your senses.

This is your amazing ability to increase self-love.

Now,

Let's fill our body with love and compassion.

Do it with grace.

Let it flow inside of you,

All around you,

Above,

Below,

To the left,

To the right,

In front and behind you.

That's great.

Now,

Let's remind ourselves again.

When I fully love myself,

I am fully able to love others.

Trying to love myself is the most amazing decision I have ever made.

Every day,

I allow my love for myself to grow more and more.

I am worthy of love,

And I honor the joy that comes with it.

Deciding to love myself unconditionally,

No matter what happens,

Feels incredible.

I deserve love and self-respect.

My self-esteem and confidence grows with my self-love.

I love and accept everything about myself.

I completely love myself.

In fact,

I love myself even more today than I did yesterday,

Because loving myself is easy.

And the more I love myself,

The better my health is.

I love every moment of my being.

I love every fiber in my body.

Every part of who I am is encompassed with love.

And I have unconditional love within me that flows in abundance to those around me.

Let's return to our breath.

And together,

Let's take five deep breaths together,

Holding it at the top for just a moment and then exhaling.

So deep breath in.

And exhale.

Deep breath in.

And exhaling.

Inhaling love.

Exhaling joy.

Inhaling compassion.

Exhaling gratitude.

Inhaling more love.

Hold it just a bit more.

Exhaling compassion.

Gently open your eyes and take a few breaths to yourself and sink into this feeling of ultimate self-love.

Remember,

When you need more self-love,

Just return to your breath.

You can do this anywhere simply by closing your eyes and returning to your senses.

This is how you find love.
