A powerful meditation to help you connect with your inner child! It doesn’t matter how old you are, there is a little child who needs love and acceptance. No matter how much you may have achieved in life and how self-reliant you are, there is a child within each one of us who is very tender and craves warmth and affection.

Hello,

My name is Sneha Shah and today I am going to help you reconnect with your inner child.

You can listen to this meditation either by sitting or lying down.

Begin by finding a comfortable position.

Just relax yourself.

Gently close your eyes as you take this inward journey.

Focus on your breath and allow yourself to quieten down.

Become more aware of what is happening inside of you.

How are you feeling today?

Perhaps you may become aware of some sensations in your body.

Just notice and allow your body to relax.

Notice the thoughts going on in your head.

Perhaps you might be feeling some emotions.

Simply be with whatever that is happening inside of you.

Not trying to change anything.

Not resisting anything.

Just staying in the awareness at this present moment.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Slowly taking your attention to your breath.

Noticing the gentle inhale and the gentle exhale.

Easy and effortless.

Notice if there is any tension held anywhere in your body.

Just let it go and feel yourself relax.

Now continuing with an open awareness.

Invite your inner child to come forward.

How do you sense that child inside of you?

You might actually remember yourself as a child.

Some memory.

An image of yourself as a child.

Just allow that to appear.

You may see your inner child or simply feel a presence.

Allow yourself to connect with your inner child in whatever way that feels natural to you.

How is your inner child feeling?

Just staying in the awareness.

Notice your own reaction to that.

Now ask your inner child,

Is there anything that he or she would like to tell you?

Allow yourself to listen to whatever the child wants to communicate.

It may be in words or it may be in some other way.

Just staying in this connection with your inner child.

Listening.

Holding.

Now ask the child,

What does it need the most from you?

Listen to what your inner child has to tell you.

Just be open and present to what comes up.

Does your inner child find it easy to tell you what it needs?

Just stay in the awareness.

Now ask the inner child,

What can I do to make you happy?

Let your inner child respond to that.

Now as if that child is standing before you or sitting in your lap,

Let the adult part of you embrace that child completely.

Feel your awareness expand,

Growing beyond your inner child and the adult that is you.

Feel both of them held in a warm white light of love and compassion,

Of safety and protection,

Of complete acceptance without any judgement.

Feel a beautiful reconnection.

Know that both you and your inner child are completely safe.

Take your time and whenever you are ready,

Tell your inner child that you will always be there.

Slowly bring your awareness back to the room,

Taking your time to gently stretch your body.

And when you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

Before you get back to your activities,

It is a wonderful idea to write down some of your thoughts and feelings in a journal.

This allows the connection with your inner child to grow.

Have a wonderful day ahead.
