Welcome to Breathe With Me,
I'm Rev Skip,
And this is a series of pranayama practices allowing us to be aware of how we are breathing.
Today's meditation is called three-part breath,
Or what I love to call fill the temple.
Your body is a temple of your spirit,
So as you breathe,
I invite you to connect with your inner self.
So let's explore the three-part breathing.
I invite you to have a seat or lie down.
You can place your right hand onto your heart,
Left hand onto your belly button.
Close the eyes if that feels good for you,
Or lower your gaze to your heart.
There are three areas in our torso where we allow the breath to enter in.
The first section is your belly.
So I simply want you to breathe in through your belly and hold your breath.
Now exhale.
The next section that we breathe in normally would be the chest area.
So I want you to breathe in first through the belly,
Then take a little bit more air in through your chest,
Hold your breath,
And a big exhale.
And the third area we normally breathe in is above the chest,
Into the head,
And beyond.
So take a breath in through the belly,
Then through the heart,
And then continue to breathe in even more breath up to the head and beyond,
And big exhale.
One more time,
Take a deep breath in through the belly,
Breathe in a little bit more,
Take the air into your chest,
And then breathe in a little bit more air above your head,
And exhale.
Return back to your normal breath for your recovery.
Just notice how your body temple feels when you breathe.
And now we're going to simply reverse it.
This next area of the pranayama is about how we release the breath.
Now take a deep,
Deep breath in,
As much breath as you can get in,
All the way up to the head and beyond.
Now hold the breath.
Now just release a quarter of that breath to the chest area.
Release it to the belly.
Now fully release your breath,
Let it all go.
Let's do that again.
Inhale deeply,
As much breath as you can,
As much breath as you can,
All the way up to the very top of your head.
Hold your breath.
Now exhale just a quarter of the breath to the chest area.
Release a little bit more breath into the belly,
Hold it.
Now fully release the breath and let go.
Return back to your normal state of breathing.
Feel the fullness and the aliveness of your breath.
This temple,
Your body,
Is sacred.
And the breath brings you back to the awareness of your true self.
Once again,
Take a nice deep breath in,
And a big exhale.
I invite you to slowly bring your awareness back into the space that you're in.
Open up your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers,
And give a little gratitude for your breath.
Thank you for joining me today on this practice.
I'm Rev Skip.
And remember,
Transformation is a choice,
And you chose today.
Be well and be blessed.
Namaste.
